  • Publication number: 20180046191
Abstract: A control system for use in a host motor vehicle (10) is configured and intended for ascertaining an instantaneous driving situation of the host motor vehicle (10) and determining a trajectory (42) for the host motor vehicle (10) that the host motor vehicle (10) is to follow for carrying out a driving maneuver, in accordance with the ascertained instantaneous driving situation of the host motor vehicle (10), a desired driving situation of the host motor vehicle (10), the driving dynamics of the host motor vehicle (10), and the surroundings data (64). The control system is further configured and intended for generating at least one associated signal (61) that assists a driver of the host motor vehicle in controlling the host motor vehicle (10) in order to follow the trajectory (42), or generating at least one associated control command (61) that causes the host motor vehicle (10) to autonomously follow the trajectory (42), essentially simultaneously with determining the trajectory (42).

  • Publication number: 20170232970
Abstract: Control system, which is adapted for application in a vehicle and intended to detect following vehicles on the basis of environmental data which are obtained from one or several environmental sensors disposed on the vehicle. The environmental sensors are adapted to provide an electronic controller of the control system with the environmental data which reflect the area in front of, laterally next to and/or behind the vehicle. The control system is at least adapted and intended to detect one or several other vehicles participating in traffic behind the own vehicle with the environmental sensors. A lane associated with each other vehicle, in which the other vehicle(s) drive(s), is detected. An occupancy of the own lane and/or of at least one adjacent lane by the other vehicle(s) is determined.

  • Publication number: 20170217431
Abstract: A control system and corresponding control method which is adapted and intended for use in an own vehicle for detecting one or more objects based on environmental data obtained from one or more environmental sensors disposed at the vehicle. The environmental sensors are adapted to provide an electronic control unit of the control system with the environmental data which reflect the areas in front of, laterally next to and/or behind the vehicle. The control system is at least adapted and intended for detecting at least one object by means of the environmental sensors during a predetermined period of time or continuously. A movement of each detected object is determined. The presence of a rotational part in the movement of at least one object is identified, and when a rotational part is present, a probability of an occurrence of a collision between the corresponding object and the own vehicle is calculated.

A traffic density of the own lane and/or of at least one adjacent lane by the other vehicle(s) is determined.

  • Publication number: 20110187863
Abstract: A method for detecting expansive static objects from a vehicle in motion. For this purpose, the method employs a front camera that interacts with an image processing device. The front camera can detect road markings on the road. A lateral detection device detects objects in the blind spot of the vehicle. Additional detection devices detect minimal distances to laterally passing or following vehicles. A logic unit links the data of the image processing device of the front camera to the data of the remaining detection devices in such a manner that expansive static objects in the front detection range of the vehicle are detected and are included as such in the detection of the lateral and rear detection devices using the logic unit.
