  • Patent number: 5946819
Abstract: Tenter driers are frequently used for drying textile webs whose edges have an increased weight per unit area or have been treated with glue. It is extremely difficult to dry the edges to the same degree of residual humidity as the remainder of the web. In the inlet region, the blower box has been replaced by blower pipes extending parallel to the chain rails. The pipes are connected to the recirculated air system of the drier and provided with nozzle apertures directed towards the web edges. Since only a low drying capacity is available, the drier either has to be extended or the throughput speed has to be decreased. With the drier according to the invention, a longitudinal section which starts at the inlet and extends over at least 20% of the total length is equipped with blower pipes (27, 28) aligned parallel to the chain rails (13, 14). Blower boxes (18, 19) are also mounted in this longitudinal section, both above and below the textile web (15).

  • Patent number: 5855476
Abstract: A device for heat treatment of continuous material webs with hot steam has a substantially sealed housing having at least one chamber, a blower having a shaft, a drive arranged outside of the housing and connected with the shaft with the blower, a heater provided with conduit for supplying gaseous or liquid substances, nozzles with nozzle openings facing toward a material web to be heat treated, an element for transporting the material to be treated through the housing, the housing having a bottom, the shaft and the conduits extending through the bottom of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4697354
Abstract: A drier for moving and drying textile materials, wherein the material web passes through several sequentially arrayed identical drying zones during the drying treatment which is implemented by fresh air, circulating air and exhaust air. The improvement includes a central exhaust duct which evacuates exhaust air from all drying zones. Preferably, the drier additionally controls the evacuation of the exhaust air from the drier as a function of the moisture in the exhaust air flow. The exhaust duct may also evacuate exhaust air from the first, central or last drying zone through which the web material passes.

  • Patent number: 4551928
Abstract: There is provided a fiber removing sieve for textile dryers which includes two sieve elements, one of which is removable from the recirculating stream of drying air for cleaning as the other element takes over operative removal of fibers from the stream of drying air.

  • Patent number: 3943613
Abstract: A process for the shrinking and structure development of textile webs, particularly knitted goods or webs of textured synthetic yarns and the like, comprises the steps of subjecting the web under tension-free conditions to a first combined washing or cleaning and wet-shrinking and structure development treatment, then to a combined steam- and drying- shrinking and structure development treatment, and finally subjecting the web in flat-spread or spread-controlled condition to a drying-thermofixing or shrinking- and structure development and stabilizing treatment. Apparatus for performing said process includes means for wet treatment of the web, for treatment with steam, and drying means with tension-free guidance means, and a final stabilization and fixation chamber.
