Patent number: 6937137Abstract: A method of keyless locking of a motor vehicle is described. A transponder exchanges a code with a transceiver. A control unit compares this code with the expected code and, if a match is found, activates a closing system of the vehicle in the sense of locking it. This control unit activates at least one display means. A locking command is generated on actuation of at least one operating element. In a first step, a search signal is delivered by the transceiver when the operating element is actuated in order to determine the position of the transponder on the basis of the response signal sent back by the transponder. In a second step, the display means is activated when the transponder is in the interior of the vehicle and/or on the side of the vehicle opposite the actuated operating element. In a third step, the closing system is activated in the sense of locking it if the operating element has been actuated again.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2000Date of Patent: August 30, 2005Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Elmar Giehler, Achim Wach, Karl-Heinz Kaiser

Publication number: 20040046639Abstract: A device according to the present invention is proposed for the keyless operation of a motor vehicle (8), having a transponder (14) that sends a code to at least one transceiver (12). A control unit (10) compares the code to an expected code, and upon agreement, enables at least one component (16, 18) necessary for the operation of the motor vehicle (8), and deactivates it in the shutdown state of the motor vehicle (8). A timer (T2, T3) is provided, whose output value is compared to a specifiable time duration (t2, t3), the at least one component (16, 18) necessary for the operation of the motor vehicle (8) being deactivated when the output value of the timer (T2, T3) exceeds the specifiable time duration (t2, t3).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 21, 2003Publication date: March 11, 2004Inventors: Elmar Giehler, Achim Wach, Karl-Heinz Kaiser

Patent number: 6208931Abstract: The apparatus for energy distribution in a motor vehicle includes a vehicle electrical power supply system (11) with a generator (13) regulated by a voltage regulator (21), a battery (12) and consumers and a control arrangement (10) receiving required information from the power supply system for determining control parameters for engine or power supply system components. The control arrangement (10) includes the voltage regulator (21) and a supply system managing device (20). The supply system managing device (20) includes a device (24) for establishing an energy management strategy and a pre-control device (23) for generating a differential output for input to the device (24) according to an actual power and required power with respect to reference voltage. The pre-control device (23) and the device (24) for establishing an energy management strategy cooperate to determine a power supply set voltage (U_s) from the required information.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 1999Date of Patent: March 27, 2001Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Richard Schoettle, Clemens Schmucker, Karl-Heinz Kaiser

Patent number: 6038280Abstract: The invention relates to a method for measuring the thicknesses of thin layers by X-ray fluorescence, in which a specimen having the layer to be studied is positioned in view and subsequently X-radiation is directed onto the layer to be studied and emitted fluorescent radiation is detected by means of a radiation detector and the layer thickness is determined, in which on positioning the specimen there is a focussing by adjusting a focussing element along its optical axis and the position of the focussing element is determined with the layer in focus. An apparatus for layer thickness measurement with X-ray fluorescence according to the invention having a X-ray tube, a detector and an observing device with a focussing element provides for the latter to be movably mounted along its optical axis and provided with a position measuring device.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 1998Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: Helmut Fischer GmbH & Co. Patent number: 5448561Abstract: An improved method for exchange of data in data processing installations, especially Controller Areas Networks (CAN), permits acknowledged and segmented transmission of data strings, of arbitrarily long length, between at least two stations in the network or other data processing installation. The method includes the transmission of the messages associated with the data by means of frames; the frames contain a header field and a data field. In the event of contention between multiple stations of the data processing installation for access to the bus connection, which frame has priority is determined by evaluating the respective header fields. In the data field of the frame, there is a control information field (58, 95) containing a message code which serves to identify the message type. The message codes distinguish among activation messages (AR, AC), data messages (DT), and acknowledgement (AK) messages. This permits transmission of data strings, of limited length, with acknowledgement.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1992Date of Patent: September 5, 1995Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Karl-Heinz Kaiser, Herbert Lohner, Hans-Joerg Mathony, Jan Unruh, Uwe Zurmuehl, Udo Brunke, Juergen Glasser, Olaf Linne
