  • Patent number: 5008896
Abstract: The invention relates to a gas laser having a discharge tube, through which the gas flows in an aixal direction and to which high-frequency electrodes are fitted externally, and having a high-frequency generator. In order to obtain a simpler construction and the smallest possible high-frequency losses, it is provided that the power output stage (12) of the high-frequency generator is disposed in the housing (1) of the laser resonator (2, 7, 8) and is directly connected to the electrodes (9, 10) via impedance adaptation elements (11).

  • Patent number: 4978929
Abstract: An oscillator circuit for supplying a gas discharge path. A self-oscillating oscillator is controlled by pulses whose width, amplitude, and/or frequency are regulated as necessary to stabilize the oscillator output power, energy, and/or voltage.

  • Patent number: 4355286
Abstract: A resonant circuit arrangement for anode resonant circuits in radio frequency output amplifiers. A transmitter tube is formed with a cylindrical grid electrode and, coaxial therewith, a hollow cylindrical anode member encircling the grid electrode. A first circular metal disk extends perpendicularly from the grid electrode beyond the anode member. A second circular metal disk, with a smaller external diameter than the first, extends perpendicularly from the outer surface of the anode member. A hollow metal cylinder extends from the peripheral edge of the first circular metal disk past the second circular metal disk. A third circular metal disk extends from the hollow metal cylinder parallel with the first and second circular metal disks and on the side of the second disk opposite the first disk. A fourth circular metal disk is positioned between and parallel to the third and fourth disks.

  • Patent number: 4296294
Abstract: A method and apparatus for drying and setting the adhesive on the backs of books contained in book blocks or similar articles by vaporizing the water using high frequency RF energy. The books are generally mounted in clamps and moved on a conveyor from the input of the book binding machine through a ventilation system to its output. A high frequency RF field is disposed along the conveyor and has a plurality of spaced apart RF electrodes wherein the electrodes adjacent to the input and output are more closely spaced together than those in the center of the machine so that the energy of the high frequency RF field can be varied in an inverse proportional relationship to the dielectric loss factor of the adhesive layer during the drying cycle.

  • Patent number: 4014732
Abstract: A device for drying and setting of backing adhesive material applied to backs of books comprising a feeder adjacent a book binding machine including a conveyor belt on which the back of the books are disposed and a gripper for holding the books in a feeding and clamping range. A plurality of HF-electrodes are positioned opposite to the backs of the book blocks and laterally with respect to a longitudinal axis relative to the conveyor belt, the electrodes being mounted in the feeding and clamping range for the gripper adjacent to the book binding machine. An exhaust is provided which removes evaporation leaving said backing adhesive material.
