  • Patent number: 6283399
Abstract: A yarn braking device, in particular a double plate brake for textile yarns running from bobbin creels, with two pairs of brake plates through which the yarn passes and whose top and bottom plates are to be pressed together adjustably in order to tension the yarn passing through, with a two-armed plate lever disposed beneath the pair of brake plates and able from that location to influence pressure loads each of the pairs of plates by means of a respective one of the lever arms, and with a pressure adjusting device acting on the plate lever.

  • Patent number: 5806773
Abstract: A creel has a frame provided with a plurality of parallel and longitudinally extending rows of holders each adapted to carry a respective filament-carrying bobbin with the holders of each row longitudinally staggered relative to the holders of adjacent rows and defining nonstraight gaps with the holders of the adjacent rows. Respective eyes are aligned transversely of the rows with the holders and filaments pass in a transverse direction from the bobbins to and through the respective eyes. A respective longitudinally extending and nonstraight guide spaced transversely in the direction from the bobbins between the bobbins and the eyes extends parallel to the rows and are each formed level with each holder of the respective rows with an arcuate section directed toward the holders of the respective rows and alignable in a first position in the transverse direction with the gaps between the bobbins.

  • Patent number: 4664335
Abstract: A creel for supplying yarns from a plurality of respective packages to a takeup machine such as a warp winder has a support defining respective supply stations carrying the yarn packages, respective stationary brake elements on the supports at the stations each having a braking surface, respective tension-sensing deflectors at the stations, and guides for directing the yarns from the respective packages over the respective braking surfaces and around the respective deflectors. Respective movable jaws movable toward and away from the respective stationary jaws can be actuated via respective springs to press against the yarns on the respective surfaces with a force capable of varying smoothly and steplessly up to a relatively high nominal level corresponding to high tension in the respective yarn. A sensor connected to the deflector responds when the tension in the yarn at the deflector drops below a predetermined low tension, typically to signal a shutdown of the takeup machine so the break can be repaired.

  • Patent number: 4570867
Abstract: Device for sucking-in and holding a thread, including a suction body having a suction opening formed therein for sucking-in a thread, and a controllable thread-clamping device for clamping the thread sucked-in through the opening, the thread-clamping device being in the form of pneumatic value operated by suction air.

  • Patent number: 4569543
Abstract: A knotting arrangement, especially for spool frames for warping and other textile machines in which the orbital knotting head is connected to a suction tube and has a freely movable clamping body, e.g. a ball, therein which, when air pressure is supplied to the suction tube can press the ball against a seat to hold the yarn end. The clamping body is not connected to any elements within the head and may be drawn by magnetic force against the seat.

  • Patent number: 4568116
Abstract: A knotter for a chain for two yarn ends, e.g. in a spooling frame comprises a beak which is rotatable on a beak shaft and having a blade which can be opened and closed under the control of a slider plate mounted for vertical sliding movement on the front of a knotter housing. Behind this plate a transmission connected to the beak shaft also has a shaft carrying a cam which is rotated when an input shaft of the transmission is additionally displaced. The slider plate has a circular hole or edge which forms the control edge for the control end of the blade.

  • Patent number: 4564228
Abstract: A tension-proof thread joint, includes two endless threads pointing in different directions, the threads having ends lying adjacent each other in lengthwise direction thereof forming a common thread end with an end section, the common thread end being twisted through one and one-half turns forming a loop with a thread eye formed therein, and the end section of the common thread end being extended through the thread eye to prevent untwisting of the common thread end.
