  • Patent number: 9066737
Abstract: A method for moving an instrument arm of a laparoscopy robot into a predeterminable position relative to a trocar placed in a patient is proposed. A spatial marker that can be localized from outside of the patient is applied to the trocar. The spatial position of the trocar is detected based on the spatial marker. The intended position of the instrument arm is established from the spatial position and the relative position. The actual position of the instrument arm is detected. The instrument arm is moved into the intended position based on the actual position, the intended position and an error minimization method.

  • Patent number: 8918154
Abstract: An endoscopic capsule has a biocompatible capsule housing that contains at least one sensor device for acquiring medical data. The sensor is arranged on an outer surface of the housing, and has a first electrode produced of an acid-resistant noble metal, and a second electrode produced of silver. An electrical voltage is applied between the first and second electrodes, and a change in an electrical variable is measured between the first and second electrodes when ammonia is present. The endoscopic capsule allows screening of gastric acid and the tissue of the stomach lining for Helicobacter pylori in a manner that is gentle for the patient.

  • Publication number: 20110186569
Abstract: A description is given of a carton (10) for producing a soft-ice mixture or the like which is frozen into a block. The carton has a circular base (12). Extending from the base (12) to an opening of the carton (10) is a lateral surface (18) which, at the opening, merges into a radially outwardly extending periphery (20). The carton (10), overall, is designed such that it can be taken apart for removal of the block by hand. For this purpose, a lid (22), which can be welded to the periphery (20), comprises a panel (22?) which, following welding to the periphery (20), cannot be detached from the carton (10) without being destroyed. The lateral surface (18) has a tear-open strip (27) at a distance beneath the periphery, preferably approximately two thirds of the way up the carton (10). This ensures that the carton (10) is used, as envisaged, as a disposable carton, that is to say it is actually used only once and then disposed of.

  • Patent number: 6778987
Abstract: Methods and a system that provide a network of data sources in terms of a traditional database schema, convert traditional database queries into network messages, and route those messages to those data sources which have relevant data. In the present invention, the network interface of the data source accepts the message, filters the data source's output according to the instructions in the message, and then sends reply messages to the originator of the query. The system then collects these reply messages at the query originator and produces query results as a traditional database result.

  • Publication number: 20040030418
Abstract: A system and method are described for constructing and/or designing/planning/programming a production and/or processing machine. The various construction phases are executed within the system by an iterative process, whereby the simulation data of a mechanical model of the machine are used for designing/planning/programming a controller and/or a drive. The effect of the controller on the performance of the mechanical model is checked again in a subsequent step. In this way, the entire system which includes the machine and the controller software as well as the drive, is optimized step-by-step, resulting in an integrated design from the mechanical components to the software.

  • Patent number: 6591226
Abstract: The invention relates to an acoustic diagnostic system and an associated method, wherein the system includes a sensor mechanism to convert mechanical vibrations into electrical signals. The acoustic diagnostic system furthermore includes a signal conditioning unit to amplify and low-pass filter the electrical signals and an analog/digital converter to convert the amplified and low-pass filtered signals into discrete digital data. In addition, a signal processing unit, which performs signal analysis, extraction of characteristics, and classification of error classes and/or quality classes, which are associated with a respective test object of the digital data, is provided. Finally, the acoustic diagnostic system includes an archive to automatically archive an occurrence and a frequency of the error classes and/or the quality classes. The diagnostic system preferably includes controlling means that control the production process for the manufacture of the test object.

  • Patent number: 6546350
Abstract: The invention is directed to a system and a method for the configuration and/or parameterization of diagnostic devices for test objects. The system includes a first data object having a collection of technological test object parameters of the test object and its components, and a second data object having a collection of technological parameters of hardware components of the diagnostic device. The system further includes a first program object containing data sentences for the assignment of at least test object parameters and technological parameters of hardware components, and a second program object for processing the data sentences assigned in the first program object. Via the data and program objects, a knowledge base is created that results in a configuration mainly automatically controlled by the knowledge of the system and/or parameterization of the diagnostic device including the test structure and evaluation. In this manner, the cost of such preparations is significantly reduced.
