Patent number: 6120720Abstract: This method involves the injection molding of a polymeric/copolymeric frame about a peripheral edge of glass panel in association with a pair of brackets to form a refrigerator shelf. The glass panel is placed in a cavity of a mold with a peripheral edge of the cavity corresponding to a peripheral edge of the glass panel. The cavity has side cavity portions each housing one of the shelf brackets. Polymeric/copolymeric synthetic plastic material is injected into the cavity preferably adjacent corners thereof such that the forces of the injected material are essentially self-balancing about the peripheral edge of the glass panel, thereby maintaining the glass panel in substantially mating conformity with the cavity to produce a relatively consistently contoured and cross-sectioned frame which, upon the solidification of the plastic material, also unites the shelf brackets to the glass panel.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 1997Date of Patent: September 19, 2000Assignees: Gemtron Corporation, Mecalit GmbHInventors: Max Meier, Karl-Heinz Meier

Patent number: 5006701Abstract: Sensor system for regulating machines, especially sewing machines, with a light barrier comprising a light emitter and a light receiver. The light emitter provided is an incandescent lamp supplied from an energy source. An evaluating stage of adjustable sensitivity is connected to the light receiver. The energy source of the incandescent lamp is regulated, and is coupled with the evaluating stage in such a way that the desired value of the regulated energy source is automatically adjustable in dependence on the sensitivity setting of the evaluating stage.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 1989Date of Patent: April 9, 1991Inventors: Karl-Peter Kothe, Manfred W. Patent number: 4300082Abstract: The drive shaft of a motor can be coupled to an output shaft by an electromagnetically activated friction clutch. The output shaft can be braked by an electromagnetically activated friction brake. The motor drive shaft rotates at constant speed. The rotary speed of the output shaft is regulated by negative-feedback action to maintain a selected value, by activating the clutch and brake alternately as necessary. The activating signals for the clutch and brake are pulse-width-modulated activating signals. The output shaft can be stopped in at least one predetermined angular position when commanded to do so. The movable parts of the brake and clutch are of minimal mass, and the speed-regulating system includes a speed feedback transducer system of very high resolution.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 1980Date of Patent: November 10, 1981Assignee: Quick-Rotan Becker & Notz KGInventors: Wolfgang Angersbach, Karl-Heinz Meier

Patent number: 4172985Abstract: An electric coupling and brake motor comprises a continuously rotating main or drive shaft of the motor and an output shaft coaxially therewith, on which a cylindrical coupling member is coaxially mounted for rotation therewith and axially immovable with respect thereto. A flywheel is mounted on the drive shaft for rotation therewith and axially movable with respect thereto and facing one of the end faces of the coupling member, and a brake abutment member is mounted in the motor housing movable only in axial direction toward and away from the other end face of the coupling member. The motor includes further electromagnet means for selectively moving the flywheel or the brake abutment member in axial direction into frictional engagement with the respective end face of the coupling member to rotate the output shaft together with the drive shaft or to hold the output shaft stationarily during rotation of the drive shaft.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 1977Date of Patent: October 30, 1979Assignee: Quick-Rotan Becker & Notz KGInventor: Karl-Heinz Meier

Patent number: 3995156Abstract: A transmitter for determining the speed of rotation and the angular position of a rotating member, such as a shaft, in which a coding disc is driven synchronously with the shaft and has a series of circularly distributed light and dark areas which cooperate with two sections of alternating light and dark areas formed by a coding segment which is fixed relative to the disc. The pitch of the light and dark areas of the coding segment is equal to the pitch of the light and dark areas of the coding disc, respectively, and the light and dark areas of one section of the coding segment are staggered relative to the light and dark areas of the other section thereof. A light is passed towards the coding disc and the coding segment and at least one photosensitive receiver is in the path of the light passing through the light areas for generating an output signal.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 1975Date of Patent: November 30, 1976Assignee: Quick-Rotan Becker & Notz KGInventors: Wolfgang Angersbach, Karl-Heinz Meier
