  • Publication number: 20130197296
Abstract: A minimally invasive method to eliminate circulating agents from an organism to prevent and treat diseases is disclosed. The method utilizes immunomagnetic methods to concentrate and localize disease-associated agents in a small region of the body. Subsequently, the complexes are removed from the body. Removal of disease-causing or disease-promoting agents (circulating tumor cells, bacteria, viruses and virus-infected cells, certain immune cells) would add a significant new option for intervention of disease progression and supplement other therapeutic options.

  • Publication number: 20030023386
Abstract: Methods are provided that apply neural network technology to recognize small metabolic changes in microorganisms, plants or animals to detect changes induced by pesticide (herbicide, insecticide, fungicide) treatment, genetic modification, environmental stress, and other external or internal factors that have influence on metabolite concentrations. The method implements recognition of nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, mass spectra, and/or chromatograms of crude plant extracts and association of such spectra or chromatograms with the treatment of tissue before harvest. The spectra and chromatograms have information of all the metabolites above a concentration threshold contained in the plant tissue extract. The method applies mathematical models to the very complex plant tissue extract and allows the detection of treatments with bioregulators such as pesticides, or genetic modifications such as gene insertions or deletions.

  • Patent number: 6321774
Abstract: A motor-driven control valve for cryogenically liquified rocket propellant comprises a valve casing with a co-axial inlet port and outlet port, a slidable regulating sleeve, an electric motor, a gear, a drive chamber within the casing, and a drive transmission in the drive chamber. The regulating sleeve is centrally arranged and slidably mounted and sealed in the valve casing and the drive chamber. Flow slots are circumferentially distributed around the regulating sleeve. The externally mounted motor and gear control the position of the regulating sleeve through the drive transmission. Sliding adjustment of the position of the sleeve regulates the exposed cross-section of the flow slots, thereby also regulating the open and closed switching of the control valve.

  • Patent number: 5576425
Abstract: The aliphatic primary alcohols are reacted with a glycose, more especially glucose, in the presence of an acidic catalyst in certain process steps so that particularly light-colored and alkali-stable alkyl glucosides are obtained after a subsequent, compulsory bleaching step, which represents an improvement over known direct synthesis processes.
