  • Publication number: 20120222821
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for turning up a tyre-building part on a tyre-building drum using a roller lever. In order to produce a device for turning up a tyre-building part on a tyre-building drum, by means of which the tyre-building part is turned up without defects, in particular an unintended crease formation in the lateral wall, according to the invention the roller lever (5) comprises a lifting roller (7) on the side thereof directed towards the drum axis (3) of the tyre-building drum (2), opposite which a ramp-shaped component (12) is arranged. As the tyre-building part (1) is turned up, the roller lever (5) is raised by means of the lifting roller (7) to a pre-position, wherein, as the roller lever (5) is lifted to the pre-position, the crimping roller (6) is spaced in such a way that the crimping roller (6) is substantially exclusively in contact with the tyre-building part (1) and the roller rolls along the tyre-building part (6).

  • Publication number: 20110203738
Abstract: A device for constructing a carcass for a vehicle tire. In order to provide a device with which the core centering devices can be expanded variably in diameter, wherein the core centering devices can be used at the same time for producing small tire dimensions, and with which at the same time the diameter of the diaphragm supports can be moved by a motor. The bladder support on the side of the movement box is connected to the shaft of the movement box in a fixed manner, with the axial distance for determining the carcass width of the vehicle tire to be produced between the diaphragm support and building drum being defined by positioning of the movement box in the axial direction. The bladder support on the side of the spindlebox is movably attached to the shaft. The axial distance for determining the carcass width of the vehicle tire to be produced between the bladder support and the building drum is defined by positioning in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 7699952
Abstract: Method and apparatus for positioning bead cores during a building of a radial tire carcass in a tire-building machine. The method includes positioning first and second bead cores on respective first and second core-centering devices, on a first side of a carcass drum and centering the first and second bead cores. Further, the method includes grasping, with a second core-setting device, the second bead core and transporting the second core-setting device and the second bead core to a second side of the carcass drum. Additionally, the method includes grasping, with a first core-setting device, the first bead core; and setting the first and second bead cores onto the tire carcass by the first and second core-setting devices.

  • Publication number: 20070261780
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for building a radial tire on a tire-building machine that has an expandable carcass drum (9) with a cylindrical external circumference and two bellows supports (10) with inflatable bellows (11), whereby a tire inner liner (1) and a carcass ply (2) having projections and projecting beyond the edges of the carcass drum (9) are laid and spliced on the carcass drum (9), subsequently bead cores (3) with core profiles (4) are positioned and the projections of the carcass ply (2) are turned up around the outsides of the bead cores (3) by the inflation of the bellows (11). Expandable bellows supports (10) are provided that are expanded for the placing and splicing of tire components so that the external surfaces of the bellows (11) together with the external surface of the expanded carcass drum (9) form at least essentially a uniform cylindrical load-bearing surface.
