  • Patent number: 7637438
Abstract: The invention relates to a rail fastener for track systems, comprising a tensioning element (1) made of an elastic material, in particular hardened spring steel that in the assembled state is fixed in place between a retaining plate (3) provided on a sleeper (2) and a fastening anchor (4) such that the tensioning element exerts a retention force on the foot (5) of a rail (6) in order to hold the rail (6) in position, the tensioning element (1) being symmetrically aligned with respect to a vertically oriented plane of symmetry (7) that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (8) of the rail (6). According to the invention, the tensioning element (1) has two torsion legs (1a? and 1a?), preferably extending essentially in parallel, in order to achieve stepped overload protection.

  • Publication number: 20070193200
Abstract: In a sleeper having an actuator for switch tongues (3a and 3b), designed as a hollow box sleeper (1) open at the top, for installation in a railway line, in particular in the vicinity of switches, the linkages for the movable switch tongues (3a and 3b) and other functional elements such as drive and locking means, monitoring devices, or the like being housed in the hollow box sleeper (1), the hollow box sleeper (1) is provided with a floor trough (8; 8a; 8b) for housing the functional elements or parts thereof.

  • Patent number: 7070152
Abstract: A railroad switch actuator has a transversely extending box sleeper having a pair of ends, adapted to be secured to a pair of longitudinally extending fixed rolling rails, and adapted to slidably support a pair of longitudinally extending and transversely shiftable switch tongues. A switch rod extends transversely in the box sleeper, is connected to the tongues, is centered on a transverse axis, and is displaceable along the transverse axis to shift the tongues. A drive having an output shaft is supported on one end of the sleeper by a hinge for pivotal movement between a down position outboard of the one sleeper end and with the output shaft axially aligned with the switch rod and an up position between the sleeper ends.

  • Publication number: 20020060273
Abstract: A track system has sleepers of predetermined width and at a predetermined spacing and a pair of running rails fixed to the sleepers. A switch has inner and outer transversely displaceable tongues engageable with the running rails and a pair of parallel hollow box sleepers of the predetermined width and at the predetermined spacing fixed to the running rails and on which the tongues are transversely displaceable. A drive rod extending transversely in one of the box sleepers is connected to both of the tongues so that a drive connected to the drive rod can transversely shift the tongues. Inner and outer position-monitoring rods extending transversely in the other of the box sleepers are connected to the respective guard rails.

  • Patent number: 6279833
Abstract: A guide-rail assembly has an anchor plate having an upstanding flange with a transversely directed face and formed below the face with at least one transversely throughgoing hole and a guide rail above the hole and having a transversely directed outer face bearing transversely on the flange face and an inner face directed transversely oppositely. A J-bolt has a bearing face directed transversely toward and bearing on the guide-rail inner face and a shank extending through the hole below the guide rail. A nut threaded on the shank and engaging an outer surface of the plate presses the J-bolt bearing face against the guide-rail inner face and clamps the guide rail against the anchor-plate face.
