    Abstract: A telescope mirror assembly includes a space frame; a deformable mirror body; a plurality of spaced supporting elements bonded to the mirror body by an adhesive; a fastening assembly for releasably securing each supporting element to the space frame for combining the mirror body and the space frame into a self-supporting construction; piezoelements interposed between each supporting element and the space frame for selectively imparting by the piezoelements a pressing or pulling force to a portion of the mirror body for moving such portion toward or away from the space frame.
