Patents by Inventor Karl-Heinz Wollenweber

Karl-Heinz Wollenweber has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 7431132
Abstract: A disc brake comprises a brake carrier, which is fastenable to the vehicle and is provided with bolts at the leading side and at the trailing side of the brake, which during braking take up the forces acting upon the brake linings. The relative dimensions and arrangements of the bolts and of the brake lining are such that, upon introduction of a brake force that is capable of decelerating the vehicle up to a maximum value in the region of 0.1 g, only tensile forces act upon the brake lining.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 19, 2005
Date of Patent: October 7, 2008
    Assignee: Lucas Automotive GmbH
Inventors: Michael Schog, Karl-Heinz Wollenweber, Christian Schroeter, Dirk Hees, Guido Zenzen
  • Patent number: 7377368
Abstract: A disc brake has a brake carrier (10) with at least two bolts (16a, 16b, 18a, 18b) which stand axially to the brake disc for guiding a brake lining (32a, 32b). The plane (P) spanned by the bolt axes has a smaller radial distance (D) from the disc axis (A) than the centroid of the friction lining.

Date of Patent: May 27, 2008
    Assignee: Lucas Automotive GmbH

  • Patent number: 7201258
Abstract: A disc brake having a brake carrier (10) which may be fastened to the vehicle and to which bolts are fastened, comprises brake pads (32a, 32b), in the supporting plates of which U-shaped recesses (40, 40?) are formed, which are placed onto the bolts, such that the brake pads are axially movably guided relative to the brake disc.

Date of Patent: April 10, 2007
    Assignee: Lucas Automotive GmbH

  • Publication number: 20020096046
Abstract: Methods are described, with which by expansion of metal foam it is possible in particular to manufacture pistons for brakes. This enables pistons of a very low wall thickness and high strength.

  • Patent number: 5279394
Abstract: A disc brake having two brake pads adapted to be pressed against the brake disc on either side is supported via guide pins (34, 36, 38, 40) on a brake support (10) with respect to the frictional forces occurring on braking. A force sensor is arranged on or in the guide pins to measure the brake torque directly.
