  • Patent number: 5086159
Abstract: Copolycarbonates derived from known bisphenols and small quantities of dihydroxydiphenyl cycloalkanes corresponding to formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 denote, independently of one another, hydrogen, halogen, preferably chlorine or bromine, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.6 cycloalkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl, preferably phenyl, and C.sub.7 -C.sub.12 aralkyl, preferably phenyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, in particular benzyl,m denotes an integer with a value from 4 to 7, preferably 4 or 5,R.sup.3 and R.sup.4, which are selected independently for each X, denote, independently of one another, hydrogen or C.sub.1 to C.sub.6 alkyl, andX denotes carbon under the condition that R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are both alkyl on at least one X atoms are disclosed. These copolycarbonates are characterized by their improved processing stability.

  • Patent number: 4699745
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of thermoplastic polycarbonate injection-moulded shaped articles from polycarbonate melt strands, which is characterized in that polycarbonate melt strands are pressed through a circular orifice with a diameter of 1 to 8 mm, preferably 2 to 6 mm, and are then cooled to below their softening point, stretched in a ratio of between 1:1.5 and 1:8, preferably between 1:1.5 and 1:5, between room temperature and the softening point of the resulting polycarbonate strand, and are then granulated, and the resulting polycarbonate granules are processed in a known manner by the injection-moulding process at product temperatures of below 320.degree. C. preferably below 300.degree. C.
