  • Publication number: 20140084665
Abstract: The present invention relates to a material transfer apparatus for a road construction machine, and especially a ground milling machine. The material transfer apparatus comprises a material feed area, a material discharge area and a sealing apparatus. According to one aspect of the present invention, the sealing apparatus comprises a first sealing element and a second sealing element, wherein the first sealing element and the second sealing element overlap each other at least in part and form a hollow space, so that ground material to be removed is conveyed in an unobstructed manner from the material feed area to the material discharge area.

  • Publication number: 20080309058
Abstract: The invention relates to a swivelable roll bar, in particular for construction vehicles, with two vertical carriers, each of which has a pair of spars, whereby in each, one spar is connected swivelably through a link joint with the another spar, and the link joint comprises a lock and a stop. The stop consists of a joint stiffener, which is built as an extension of one spar and partially grips about the end of the other. In addition to that, the lock has a continuously adjustable final control element, with which the joint stiffener can be braced against the other spar. With the grip about the other spar, the flexural strength of the link joint of the swivelable roll bar is increased. Further, the bracing of the joint stiffener against the other spar eliminates the play in the link joint. The joint stiffener is preferably built as a U-shaped tubular segment that is attached to the latter as an extension of the spar.

  • Patent number: 6554532
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for ground compacting, having at least one vibrating roller whose casing surface is composed of a plurality of segments in the peripheral direction, at least some of which have midpoints which describe an arc having a radius of curvature that deviates from the mean radius of the roller. In order to smooth the jolting movement resulting from the shape of the rollers in devices of this type, it is proposed to construct the tire casing of the roller from several sections lying adjacent to one another in the axial direction, said sections having segments abutting one another in the peripheral direction, whereby the abutting edges are displaced vis-à-vis one another in the peripheral direction.

  • Patent number: 6551019
Abstract: A device for checking the compaction, in particular, of black top pavement in street and roadway construction, using a vibration roller drum that is provided with a compaction checking device is provided. In the compaction of black top pavement, the measurement methods of the dynamic ground rigidity, known from ground compaction, for determining the condition of compaction that has been achieved, can not be used since the asphalt rigidity varies between two measurements with the temperature and in addition, the underground rigidity is measured with it proportionately. In order to solve these problems, a second vibration roller drum is provided which has a second compaction checking device, whereby the second vibration roller drum is coupled to the first vibration roller drum essentially following it in the same track. In this way, for the comparison of the values determined, the temperature dependence of the measurement values determined is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 5797699
Abstract: Dynamic soil packing can be achieved by a procedure and device whereby the vibratory motion of the roller or one of the parts attached to it is determined, and whereby the vertical component of the vibratory force is diminished in the event of a disturbance (e.g., bouncing) of the basic roller vibration. The packing device is one having at least two exciter shafts synchronously rotating in opposite directions and arranged parallel to or in alignment with the roller axis for generating a vibrating motion, the exciter shafts being adjustable in their position and/or phase relationship so that the resulting centrifugal force electively exerts horizontal shearing forces and/or vertical compressive forces in the soil. A motion sensor determines the vibratory motion, such as amplitude, acceleration or periodicity thereof, and in connection with a control loop and adjustable pivot bearing adjusts the horizontal and vertical components of the motion to eliminate the disturbance.
