  • Patent number: 6904826
Abstract: An arm bearing for an articulated-arm awning having a pillow block hinged on a bracket. The pillow block is provided on one end with at least one bearing eye for receiving one awning arm in rotary fashion. A threaded rod limits the tilting angle between the bracket and the pillow block. A first end of the threaded rod being adjustably screwed into a locating opening in the bracket and a second end of the threaded rod being provided with a head that rests against a stop on the pillow block in a maximally tilted angular position. The arm bearing includes a locking member with which the threaded rod can be fixed on the stop. The locking member includes a locking slide that can be coupled with the awning arm via a connection element to induce rotary movement of the awning arm to disengage the locking slide.

  • Publication number: 20030108259
Abstract: The present invention relates to an arm bearing (10) for an articulated-arm awning having a pillow block (14), that is hinged on a bracket (12) so as to tilt about a tilting axis (16). The pillow block (14) is provided on one of its ends with at least one bearing eye (22) for receiving one awning arm (24) in rotary fashion. There is further provided a threaded rod (30) for limiting the maximum tilting angle between the bracket (12) and the pillow block (14), a first end (32) of the threaded rod (30) being adjustably screwed into a locating opening (34) in the bracket (12) and a second end of the threaded rod (30) being provided with a head (42) that rests against a stop on the pillow block (14) in the maximally tilted angular position. Finally, the arm bearing (10) comprises a locking member (60) by means of which the head (42) of the threaded rod (30) can be fixed on the stop.

  • Patent number: 5029363
Abstract: A pivotal hinge for an arm of an awning, comprising a supporting block tightly clampable on a supporting means and a pivotal bracket tiltable into an emergent position about a substantially horizontal axis, on which pivotal bracket an arm is pivotable about an axis oriented transversely to the tilting axis, the pivotal bracket and the supporting block being coupled by a coupling rod with thread and an adjusting nut, allowing and limiting the tilting movement, and a blocking slide being coupled with the arm, which blocking slide is movable transversely to the axis of the coupling rod and locks same in the emergent position. The adjusting nut is formed as a cylinder body having a cylindrical surface with a thread passage in the radial direction. A cylinder segment cup is provided as reception for the cylindrical surface of the adjusting nut. The blocking slide contacts the cylindrical surface of the adjusting nut in the emergent position.

  • Patent number: 4590642
Abstract: A pivotal hinge for an arm of an awning, wherein a supporting block is tightly clamped on a rectangular supporting tube and carries a pivotal bracket swingable and lockable about an axle disposed in parallel with the supporting tube. The pivotal hinge is adjustable in a simple manner by a readily available tool and has high stability, particularly rigidity against torsion. The supporting block is defined by a yoke including two legs joined by a central web, one leg being defined by two parallel webs and a cross web connecting same. A supporting trunnion is carried within a pair of eyes formed in spaced projections extending beyond the central web for pivotally supporting the pivotal bracket. A threaded sleeve is rotatably supported in a guide passage provided in the cross web, with a threaded bolt being engaged through the threaded sleeve and having one end pivotally connected to the pivotal bracket.
