  • Patent number: 12503448
Abstract: A compound of formula (I), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof, for use in the treatment of a patient infected with pathogenic organisms; wherein X and Y are each independently selected from C, N, O and S, provided at least one of X and Y is N, O or S; wherein R1 and R2 are each independently selected from an optionally substituted C1-C8 alkyl, C1-C8 alkenyl, aryl, heteroaryl or alkylaryl group; and wherein Z is selected from H, —CN, —NO2, —NR3R4, —NR5(CO)R6; C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, —(CO)WR12, hydroxy, amino, thiol, chloro, fluoro, CF3, CHF2 or CH2F groups. The compounds may be effective in treating patients/animals infected with parasites selected from Schistosoma, Haemonchus, Eimeria, Echinococcus, Dirofilaria, Fasciola or Plasmodium parasites. Additionally or alternatively, the compounds of formula (I) may be effective in treating patients infected with pathogenic bacteria selected from S. aureus, MRSA and Enterococcus faecalis.

  • Publication number: 20060263497
Abstract: The present invention creates a new rigid degassing valve. The valve of the present invention utilizes a relatively stiff support body in order to successfully vent gases, such as carbon dioxide, from within the packaging. Carbon dioxide may be created by organic products placed in the packaging which causes the package to expand. The valve of the current invention maintains its shape as the package becomes bloated and takes on a rounded shape due to carbon dioxide expended by the roasted coffee beans.

  • Publication number: 20060227462
Abstract: A reversed pressure relief valve that is used in connection with a computer hard disk drive so as to vent pressurized gases contained within the disk drive while not permitting debris to enter the drive mechanism or the valve. More specifically, the present invention is a reversed direction valve which includes at least one passageway defined by at least a lifter ring, a dry strap, a pressure sensitive adhesive (“PSA”)/body film and a filter media.

  • Patent number: 6425255
Abstract: The instant invention is a lightweight, hand portable air conditioner or heater with an attachment that encloses a small area thus permitting the enclosed are to be heated or cooled. The apparatus has a housing unit with wheels and a handle for pulling or pushing the unit. The top of the unit has two telescopic extension poles that can be extended the length of a bed. A suitable material placed over the extended V shaped poles creates a small enclosure for a person. The housing unit contains a compressor with a refrigerant, two fans operated by a central motor, and a cool portion and hot portion. The compressor will cool the refrigerant by compressing the gas to liquid, the cool liquid will be diverted to the cool portion and a fan will direct the cool air out of the housing unit through a vent and into the enclosed area created by the material draped over the extended poles. As a result, the enclosed area can be cooled allowing a person inside to rest or sleep comfortably.
