Abstract: A method for a seat belt system (10) in a vehicle (14), the seat belt system (10) comprising a control unit (36) and at least one extendable seat belt (18) with a locking tongue (22), at least one belt buckle (24) and at least one webbing extension measuring device (30), includes the steps of: a) determining the webbing extension by means of the webbing extension measuring device (30), b) determining whether a buckling operation has occurred, c) activating at least one guide element on the belt buckle (24) and/or the seat belt (18), if a buckling operation has occurred. Moreover, the invention provides a seat belt system (10) for a vehicle (14) comprising an extendable seat belt (18) as well as a vehicle comprising a seat belt system (10).

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a webbing (20) for a seat belt system in a vehicle comprises the following steps of: weaving the webbing (20) using a first yarn (30) and a second yarn (32), the first yarn (30) and the second yarn (32) reflecting light in the spectrum invisible to humans with different intensity, wherein the first and second yarns (30, 32) form a pattern (36), and overdying the webbing (20) so that the webbing (20) reflects light in the spectral range visible to humans in such a way that it has a homogenous appearance for humans. Moreover, such a webbing (20) and a vehicle comprising such a webbing (20) are provided.

Abstract: A belt spool for a belt retractor with a force limiter has at least one flange (16) with a front face (27) and one insert (28) provided on the front face (27) of the flange (16). The insert (28) constitutes the portion that is cut by the force limiter. The invention further relates to a belt retractor.

Abstract: A method of producing a device containing pyrotechnical material comprises the following steps: providing a tubular housing element with a base and metal ducts incorporated in the base, with the housing element and the base being integrally formed of glass and the housing element and the base defining a housing interior with a bottom adjoining the base, and the metal ducts extending through the bottom into the housing interior; applying a metal layer on the bottom by forming a heat-generating element integrally connected with the metal ducts and the bottom; introducing the pyrotechnical material into the housing element; and sealing the housing element by heating and melting off. The device obtainable in this way serves for use in vehicle occupant restraint systems, for instance as an igniter in gas generators and belt tensioners.

A piston (22) is arranged shiftably in the cylinder tube. The piston has a hollow inner space (24). A pyrotechnical propellant charge (28) is provided which following its ignition acts upon the inner space (24) of the piston (22) with compressed gas. To provide a cooling and a filtering function, a pad (44) of a wire conglomerate is arranged within the cylinder tube adjacent the face wall (33) of the cylinder tube.
