    Abstract: The invention is a process wherein organic fibers are impregnated with organopolysiloxane (1) containing, in addition to diorganosiloxane units in which the two SiC-bonded organic radicals are monovalent hydrocarbon radicals, at least two monovalent SiC-bonded radicals containing basic nitrogen, at least some of the SiC-bonded radical containing basic nitrogen comprising SiC-bonded N-cyclohexylaminoalkyl radicals. The SiC-bonded N-cyclohexylaminoalkyl radicals are in monoorganosiloxane and/or diorganosiloxane and/or triorganosiloxane units. The preferred SiC-bonded N-cyclohexylaminoalkyl radical is the SiC-bonded N-cyclohexyl-3-aminopropyl radical. The organopolysiloxane (1) contains optionally condensable groups which are bonded directly to silicon.

    Abstract: Organopolysiloxanes having SiC-bonded oxyalkylene units and Si-bonded hydroxyl groups, in which an average of at least 15 mol percent of the siloxane units contain only one SiC-bonded monovalent organic radical and the silicon valences which are not satisfied by the SiC-bonded monovalent organic radical are satisfied by siloxane oxygen atoms or oxygen atoms of hydroxyl groups. If it is desired to impart hydrophobic properties to the impregnated organic fibers, then it is essential that (6) a trimethylsiloxy end-blocked diorganopolysiloxane be added to the aqueous emulsion.
