  • Patent number: 6112416
Abstract: A vegetation trimmer attachment head includes a main body, a plurality of elongated blades extending radially outward therefrom, and pins to pivotably attach the blades to the main body. A single pin cover mates with the main body to retain the pins in place. The pin cover is held in place by being interposed between the main body and the vegetation cutting device. The attachment head is simple and can be quickly disassembled and reassembled without tools because it has few parts, none of which are threaded or snap together.

  • Patent number: 4708560
Abstract: A male bookbinding member comprises a relatively thin, narrow strip having studs projecting therefrom at intervals. The ends of the studs are formed as male paper punches. A female paper punch comprises a female bookbinding strip having holes at the same intervals as the studs. Individual or small batches of paper (or other sheet material) are brought into position overlying the female punch. The male member advances toward the sheets punching them in cooperation with the female strip. The paper remains on the studs. The operation is repeated until all the sheets of the book are on the studs. The strips are forced together, excess stud lengths cut off and heads formed on the ends of the studs to rivet the book together or the strips are held together by other means. Alternatively, a hardened female punch die is used and the female binding strip brought into contact with the studs after the sheets are assembled thereon.

  • Patent number: 4656716
Abstract: A tool for use with a type of bookbinding strips wherein one strip is formed with bendable studs and the second strip is formed with holes and grooves in one surface extending away from the holes. The grooves are preferably formed with overhanging top longitudinal edges so that the studs, after passing through holes in the pages of the book and the holes in the second strip may be bent down into the grooves, snapping under the overhanging edges. The tool of this invention may be gripped at one end and drawn along the top of the second strip, bending the studs down into the channel. For this purpose, the end is curved and also recessed to receive the second strip. To bend the studs upward to debind the book, the tool is also formed with a shallow slot having a protrusion therein formed on one or opposite sides with depressions into which the pointed end of a stud may fit. By pulling the tool away from the second strip, the stud is bent upward to approximately its original position.

  • Patent number: 4656907
Abstract: A hand-operated punch is formed of molded parts which interfit for easy and rapid assembly and disassembly. This feature is particularly useful if there are paper jams. A handle hooks under a wall of the base. Depressing the handle forces downward a transverse bar recessed to accept the upper ends of the male punch elements, which are spring-biased to travel with the transverse bar. The punch elements reciprocate within a die bar detachably connected to the base. The die bar is formed with a throat for insertion of papers to be punched. The front edge of the base is formed with a transverse groove to accept a male binder element during assembly of a book comprised of the punched paper.

  • Patent number: 4625996
Abstract: A first plastic strip has longitudinally spaced studs each of which can be bent over at a 90.degree. angle, the studs being serrated. A second strip has holes through which the studs fit and grooves which receive and secure the bent over studs, the grooves being serrated. Paper punched to receive the studs is clamped between the two strips. The studs are then bent over into grooves in the second strip and held in bent position in part by said teeth intermeshing. The paper is thus securely bound.
