  • Publication number: 20170106598
Abstract: Using an analytical model, a problem related to a product is identified from a collection of report data, the product being a three dimensional (3D) solid having a shape and produced from a manufacturing process. The problem is correlated with a set of factors. The set of factors describes a circumstance in which a user performs an operation of the product. According to a weight assigned to the problem, the problem is selected for prototyping. Using a processor and a memory, the set of factors and the operation are simulated by using a modified design of the product. In response to the modified design solving the problem, a specification of the modified design is provided for 3D printing to the user.

  • Publication number: 20170098387
Abstract: A set of biometric data about the athlete and a set of environmental data about a sporting event in which the athlete is to compete are received at a first time. Using previously saved data, a relationship is determined between a biometric factor of another athlete, an environmental factor of a previous sporting event, and an outcome of the previous sporting event. Using a subset of the set of biometric data and a subset of the set of environmental data, in conjunction with the relationship, a probability of a desired outcome of the athlete's performance in the sporting event is determined. A composition of the sports nutrition, a dosage of the composition, and a time of administering the dosage are computed and recommended for administering to the athlete to change the probability of the desired outcome to a second probability.

  • Publication number: 20170091847
Abstract: Aspects determine purchasing intent by mapping desired item features to item price values that the user will pay. Item features and price values are identified within data of reviews, and positive values assigned to each that are matched to features or prices of the mapped user intent. Helpfulness scores are determined for each of the reviews by totaling the positive values assigned to the matched features and price values, and used to prioritize reviews displayed to a user. In some aspects user customer base clusters are formed as a function of commonalities of feature to price value mappings of high helpfulness score reviews to identify most valued features for prices paid for future product offerings.

  • Patent number: 9569779
Abstract: Detection of fraud in financial transactions is facilitated. A financial transaction is initiated by a user, and based on the financial transaction, information is obtained by an electronic device of the user. Using the information, the electronic device evaluates a set of rules personalized for the user; the set of rules to be used to determine whether the financial transaction is to be approved for the user. The electronic device provides an initial indication, based on the evaluating, of whether the financial transaction is to be approved.

  • Publication number: 20160358081
Abstract: A vehicle accident detection method and system is provided. The method includes receiving location coordinates associated with a location of an occuring vehicular accident. Data associated with possible causes of the vehicular accident is received from sensors. Traffic related rules associated with a geographical location are retrieved and analyzed with respect to the data. Parameters associated with at least one vehicle involved in the vehicular accident and a possible cause are determined via execution of programming logic and transmitted to additional systems. The possible cause for the vehicular accident is determined from all possible causes based on matching current and historical accident circumstances. Additionally, weighting factors may be available and adjusted over time for accurate accident detection. A possible cause comprising a greatest weighting factor may be used to identify a most likely cause.

  • Publication number: 20150106512
Abstract: A method of predictively provisioning cloud resources based on human behaviors and heuristics includes monitoring a collection of events relating to a customer application as well as monitoring an infrastructure load on resources for the customer application. A causal relationship is evaluated between an event and the infrastructure load. A predictive rule is then constructed based on the causal relationship. Resource requirements are anticipated based on the predictive rule and a provisioning of resources in a service domain is requested for the anticipated resource requirements.

  • Publication number: 20140337111
Abstract: A method and associated systems for rewarding online advocates. The invention identifies a primary advocate as a person or entity that endorses or advocates a product or service. The invention then automatically detects, tracks, and analyzes characteristics of the advocate's act of advocating the product or service to recipients. The invention also tracks the primary advocate's conversions, which occur when the primary advocate's act of advocating influences a recipient into advocating a product or service. The invention then automatically rewards the primary advocate as a function of characteristics of the primary advocate's influence and of the primary advocate's ability to convert recipients.
