  • Publication number: 20240097064
Abstract: A light controlled semiconductor switch (LCSS), method of making, and method of using are provided. In embodiments, a vertical LCSS includes: a semiconductor body including a photoactive layer of gallium nitride (GaN) doped with carbon; a first electrode in contact with a first surface of the semiconductor body, the first electrode defining an area through which light energy from at least one light source can impinge on the first surface; and a second electrode in contact with a second surface of the semiconductor body opposed to the first surface, wherein the vertical LCSS is configured to switch from a non-conductive off-state to a conductive on-state when the light energy impinging on the semiconductor body is sufficient to raise electrons within the photoactive layer into a conduction band of the photoactive layer.

  • Patent number: 6779856
Abstract: A storage unit includes a cabinet defining an interior and a door assembly, which has a first door section and a second door section. Each of the door sections is pivotably mounted to the cabinet for movement between an open position and a closed position. The first and second door sections prevent access to the interior of the cabinet when in the closed position and provide access to the interior of the cabinet when in the oven position. The storage unit also includes a link pivotably interconnected between the first and second door sections so as to synchronize movement of the first and second door sections between the open and closed positions. A biasing arrangement counterbalances the door assembly and maintains the first and second door sections in both the open position and closed position and positions therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20020113532
Abstract: A storage unit includes a cabinet having an open front, and a counterbalanced door arrangement is interconnected with the cabinet for selectively closing the open front of the cabinet. The counterbalanced door arrangement includes an upper door member located between a pair of arms, each of which is pivotably mounted to the cabinet, in combination with a lower door member including a pair of arms pivotably interconnected with the cabinet. The pivotable connections of the upper and lower door member arms to the cabinet provides movement of the upper and lower door members between an open position, in which the upper and lower door members are moved apart, and a closed position in which the upper and lower door members are moved together. A link is interconnected between the upper and lower door member arms, for providing synchronous movement of the upper and lower door members between their open and closed positions.

  • Patent number: 5899531
Abstract: A stationarily-mounted seating structure consists of a pair of spaced supports, a seat pivotably mounted between the spaced supports and a back fixed to the spaced supports. Each spaced support includes forward and rearward vertical support members and the seat is mounted to the forward vertical support member while the back is mounted to the rearward vertical support member. A pivot mechanism for pivotably mounting the seat between the supports includes a shaft extending between and connecting the forward vertical support members. A stop element is fixed on the shaft for limiting the range of pivotable movement of the seat. A bushing is secured to the seat and is formed with an inner bearing surface for rotatably supporting the shaft, and outer bearing surfaces for engaging the stop element as well as a shroud which conceals the stop element, the bushing and a portion of the shaft. A foot bracket is mounted to each end of the shaft, and a platform bracket is mounted to the forward vertical support member.
