  • Patent number: 4804999
Abstract: A cleaning system in which the cleaning nip region is kept dark and light is projected between the preclean corotron and the nip of the magnetic cleaning brush and also light is projected at the exit of the cleaning nip region prior to the charge corotron. Cleaning occurs at the entrance of the nip, and as the photoreceptor moves through the cleaner nip, it is charged in the direction that the cleaning roll is biased. This reduces the electrostatic field at the exit of the cleaning nip and, in turn, minimizes the redeposition of wrong sign toner onto the photoreceptor as well as reducing field driven bead loss.

  • Patent number: 4101267
Abstract: Fuser apparatus for utilization in a xerographic reproducing apparatus for fixing toner images adhered to substrates wherein the fuser apparatus comprises a heated fuser roll and a backup roll cooperating therewith to form a nip through which the substrates pass with the toner images contacting the heated fuser roll. A non-contact silicone oil applicator is provided together with a metering blade for applying a uniformly thick coating on the surface of the fuser roll which coating serves to minimize effect of toner.

  • Patent number: 3957423
Abstract: Contact fuser for a xerographic reproducing apparatus characterized by the provision of means for stripping the copy paper from the heated fuser roll. The stripping means is characterized by the provision of a plurality of finger-like elements which are pivotally mounted such that the pivot point is disposed intermediate the fuser roll and an area contacted by the copy whereby the weight of the copy on the finger-like elements serves to minimize adverse forces of the elements on the fuser roll.
