  • Patent number: 11286618
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of making tissue paper in a machine for making tissue paper and in which method a fibrous web is passed through at least one press nip together with a texturing belt. The texturing belt has a side that faces the fibrous web in the press nip and the surface of that side is a web contacting surface that is textured. The texturing belt can be selected such that the tissue paper that is manufactured obtains desired values for one or several parameters. The invention also relates to a machine for making tissue paper. The machine comprises a forming section, a drying cylinder, a press having a first press unit and a second press unit between which press units a nip is formed. The second press unit is preferably a shoe roll. The machine also comprises a drying cylinder which is arranged to be heated from the inside by hot steam and on which a fibrous web can be dried by heat.

  • Patent number: 11220785
Abstract: A tissue machine (1) has a Yankee (3) and a shoe roll (4) that forms a nip with the Yankee (3). The nip has a maximum extension from an entry point (7) to an exit point (8). A flexible belt (9) forms an outer circumference of the roll (4). A fabric (10) carries a fibrous web (W) to the nip and passes through the nip with the web. The fabric (10) reaches the circumference of the roll (4) at a first contact point (11) and wraps the roll (4) from the first contact point to the nip. A mechanical support (12) inside the belt (9) supports the belt (9) between the first contact point (11) and the nip. The fabric (10) wraps the roll (4) from the first contact point (11) by more than 80°. The invention also relates to a method of operating the machine.

  • Patent number: 10808359
Abstract: A method of making tissue paper is provided, in which a fibrous web is formed in a forming section and transferred to a Yankee drying cylinder in a non-dewatering transfer nip formed between the Yankee drying cylinder and a shoe roll. The shoe roll has a shoe that is deformable such that it can adapt to a cylindrical outer surface of the Yankee drying cylinder, and a rotatable flexible jacket arranged to run in a loop around the shoe. A structured carrier fabric runs around the shoe roll and has land areas and void areas facing the fibrous web. The length of the transfer nip is in the range of 30 mm -100 mm and the linear load in the transfer nip is in the range of 35 kN/m-120 kN/m.
