  • Patent number: 7648047
Abstract: Apparatus that receives multiple screws serially from a vibrating bowl with a single exit ramp, collects a plurality, e.g., six, of screws and distributes the plurality of screws simultaneously to different tubes in one assembly. A rotary holder having a plurality of notches for receiving and holding screws, receives the screws serially from a feeder rail coupled to a vibrating screw feed bowl. After the notches have filled with screws, the screws are released into a corresponding plurality of exit tubes, where the screws may be fed (e.g., by air pressure) to a screw applicator device coupled to a distal end of the exit tubes.

  • Publication number: 20090024545
Abstract: A power consumption management system. The system includes a power appliance at a consumer site and a power appliance control point at a LSE site. The power appliance is capable of measuring and controlling power consumption on a plurality of circuits located at the consumer site, as well as controlling end consumer devices. The power appliance control point is capable of receiving power consumption data for each of the plurality of consumer circuits, and is capable of commanding the power appliance to control power consumption on individual circuits. The power appliance is further capable of directing power supplied from individual LSE's to individual circuits at the consumer site, and capable of varying such usage according to more complex schemes, for example, by time of day or environmental conditions.

  • Publication number: 20080281663
Abstract: Disclosed is a computerized method for dispatching energy from distributed resources in a discharge event so that the energy stored in individual devices is levelized, or so that an operator request is met. Evaluation of event parameters may be deferred. The method may be utilized to dispatch energy from plug-in electric vehicles. Systems and methods to account for electricity dispatched to or from electric vehicles are disclosed. Systems and methods for incentivizing consumers to participate in a dispatch event or curtail energy use are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20070271006
Abstract: A wireless base unit communicates with one or more wireless load manager units to receive power measurements for one or more loads connected to the wireless load manager. In response to dynamic variables, such as the changing price of electricity, the wireless base unit transmits commands to the wireless load manager to shut off or reduce power consumed by the one or more loads. In one variation, a wireless adapter also receives commands from the wireless base unit and converts the commands into a vendor-specific format used to control other devices such as a photovoltaic (PV) inverter.

  • Patent number: 7171156
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for providing digital quality transmission of audio and non-audio information using low cost components and arrangement. The present invention provides for the transmission of the audio and non-audio transmission by first converting the data to conform to the CD standard format and conditioning the converted signal to thereby generate a conditioned EFM signal. The conditioned EFM signal is used to frequency modulate a carrier. By converting the audio and non-audio information to conform to the CD standard format, the present method provides a low cost means of transmitting the data with error detection and correction. Another aspect of the present invention relates to embedding the non-audio information in the SUBCODE block of the data frame according to the CD standard. The non-audio information may be unrelated to the audio information, and the audio and non-audio information may be transmitted to separate devices.

  • Patent number: 6779720
Abstract: A first embodiment of a ticket generating apparatus includes a computer coupled to a server through a network and a printer coupled to the computer. A purchaser initiates a ticket purchase transaction through the network by accessing a website stored on the server. After completing the ticket purchase transaction the purchaser's computer sends image data corresponding to the image of a person to the server. The server combines the image data with text and graphics data generated by the server to form ticket data. The ticket data is sent over the network to the computer. The computer sends the ticket data to the printer to form the ticket including an image of the person. In a second embodiment of the ticket generating apparatus, the printer is coupled to the network and receives the ticket data directly from the server to form the ticket including an image of the person.
