  • Patent number: 6776112
Abstract: A sewing machine has a device for steering towards a predetermined end (E) of a seam (B1). An alternating movement of the feed elements of the sewing machine, which occurs when the stitch adjusting device is set, is taken into consideration in the calculation of the target stitch length (Sb) of the final optionally shortened end stitch (Nre) of the seam, in such a way that the setting value that deviates from the target stitch length is produced.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 2, 2003
Date of Patent: August 17, 2004
Assignee: G.M. PFAFF Aktiengesellschaft in Insolvenz
Inventors: Lothar Bruehl, Edgar Butzen, Karl-Ludwig Manuel

  • Patent number: 6527403
Abstract: A sewing machine with a light barrier used to detect the edge of a workpiece has an optical light guide (17) connected to the light source (15). The optical guide (17) is arranged in the thread guide hook (12). The thread guide hook (12) is fastened to the front side of the head (4) of the housing and is designed as a small tube for this purpose.

Date of Patent: March 4, 2003
    Assignee: Pfaff Industrie Maschinen AG
    Inventor: Karl-Ludwig Manuel
  • Patent number: 6450110
Abstract: In a sewing machine, the speed-dependent change in the stitch length is compensated by a speed-dependent correction of the setting of the stitch regulating device. A linear stitch length desired value curve Ss is obtained.

  • Patent number: 4768773
Abstract: A system for the stacking and storing of workpieces particularly from a sewing machine comprises a movable carrier with two receiving compartments for the workpieces to be stacked, two storage channels spaced from each other by the width of a receiving compartment, and two push units. The carrier is so controlled by a pneumatic cylinder that one of the receiving compartments stands in stack forming position below a work transfer device and the other is aligned with one of the storage channels.

    Inventors: Gunter Mall, Karl-Ludwig Manuel
  • Patent number: 4722290
Abstract: A sewing machine with a workpiece alignment device for the automatic stitching of workpieces with convex edge sections has a stepwise feed mechanism and an alignment tool operating alternately with the feed mechanism. The tool rotates the workpiece around the axis of the needle when the needle pierces the material, and holds it resting against a guide rule. The alignment tool is driven by drive mechanisms positively connected to one another, because of which the sewing machine can be operated at a relatively high speed.
