  • Publication number: 20140153488
Abstract: A network node includes, into a field of downlink control information that provides a user equipment with information for reception and decoding of data transmitted from the network node to the user equipment in a mobile communication network, an indication of receiver information. The receiver information is applicable for interference suppression/cancellation by a receiving operation of the user equipment, capable of performing interference suppression/cancellation using the receiver information. The user equipment detects the receiver information from the downlink control information, and can select a receiving operation using the receiver information.

  • Publication number: 20130329623
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided to provide configurations for transmitting reference symbols in a wireless communication network. In the context of a method, a first set of one or more reference symbols may be caused to be transmitted by a first access point in at least one control channel of a system frame comprising a plurality of control channels and incorporating control channel frequency reuse. The reference symbols of the first set may overlap with at least one reference symbol in a second set of one or more reference symbols transmitted by a second access point. Multiple configurations for the reference symbols may also be provided, including a minimum configuration.

  • Publication number: 20130242827
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for detecting multiple input multiple output communications. A method and apparatus may enable transmission of a first control signal to a communication device. The first control signal may indicate at least one number of data streams that the communication device is allowed to utilize to transmit data. The method and apparatus may perform detection of discontinuous transmission on one or more control channels indicated by the first control signal. The method and apparatus may determine whether the communication device currently communicates on the control channels in response to performing the detection of the discontinuous transmission.

  • Patent number: 8504031
Abstract: Indications of desired radio communications downlink characteristics are transmitted via a radio communications uplink from a user equipment to a node of a cellular wireless network, the indications each relating to one or more components of a radio communications link from the node to the user equipment. The indications are transmitted successively at different cycles, and at each different cycle a first parameter is determined, indicating a more preferred number of components and a second parameter is determined, indicating a less preferred number of components. First additional parameters are calculated and transmitted relating to the desired radio communications link quality corresponding to the first parameter and second additional parameters are calculated and transmitted relating to the desired radio communications link quality on the basis of the second parameter. The first and second parameters are each parameters which are variable between different cycles.

  • Publication number: 20130034092
Abstract: To test whether a first radio channel is synchronized, a first quality value (e.g., power control bits) is determined for a first radio channel (e.g., DPCCH or F-DPCH), and a second quality value is determined for a second radio channel (e.g., PCICH) which carries precoding information (e.g., beamforming weights); then the first and second quality values are combined. In specific embodiments the combining includes comparing the first and second quality values against respective first and second thresholds to obtain respective first and second binary results that are logically combined; or by multiplying the first and second quality values by respective first and second weighting values to achieve weighted values which are added.
