  • Patent number: 5384350
Abstract: A binder composition for zinc dust paints contains silicic acid esters, solvents, curing agents, an anti-settling agent and n-butyl acetate. The composition has a flash point above 21.degree. C.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 6, 1993
Date of Patent: January 24, 1995
    Assignee: Huls Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 4715895
Abstract: The present invention relates to the production of molds for the casting of metal. The molds are made of refractory materials bound together by a binding agent on the basis of a partially hydrolyzed, partially condensed silicic acid ester. A slip consisting of binding agent and refractory material is applied to the model alternately with a granular refractory sanding material. In accordance with the invention, the granular refractory sanding material contains the agent for hardening the binding agent. The method of the invention makes possible the dimensionally accurate reproduction of even relatively large models, while the slip can be stored over a relatively long period of time without loss of its action.

  • Patent number: 4716051
Abstract: Solvent-free alkyl trialkoxy-silanes whose alkyl groups have 2 to 8 carbon atoms and whose alkoxy groups have 1 or 2 carbon atoms are used for the in-depth hydrophobic impregnation of concrete. Propyl and isobutyl trialkoxy-silanes display an especially deeply penetrating hydrophobizing action which is greater than that of solutions of these silanes.
