  • Publication number: 20070231107
Abstract: A booklet making machine comprises a pair of motor driven rollers (14), between which sheets forming a booklet, after being stapled together, are intended to be entered for folding and feeding for delivery. Each roller comprises a rigid jacket (20) which is attached to a rotation shaft extending in the longitudinal direction of the roller by elastic means (24) disposed between the jacket and the rotation shaft for relative displacement of shaft and jacket in radial direction while overcoming a spring force.

  • Publication number: 20030031532
Abstract: The invention concerns a system and a method for preferably on-line providing stapled and folded booklets with a square back. The system comprises means (1a, 1b) for feeding a booklet (H) forwardly and in reverse Furthermore, there is a stopper (2a) for stopping a fed-in booklet, two elongated bars (4, 5) adapted to clamp the booklet (H) between them, and displaceable means (9) for engaging a booklet clamped between the elongated bars (4, 5) for lending the back of the booklet square shape. In the method, a booklet (H) is fed in between two elongated bars (4, 5) to a stopper (2a), whereafter the elongated bars (4, 5) clamp the booklet (H), a movable member (9) is urged against the back of the booklet (H) so as to make it square-shaped, the elongated bars (4, 5) are moved apart, and the completed booklet is fed out in reverse.

  • Patent number: 4762138
Abstract: For monitoring the end dropout of cigarettes in the course of the cigarette production beneath a point at which the cigarettes rotate about their longitudinal axis a mass transducer for the dropping tobacco particles is disposed; an evaluating device determines from the mass of the tobacco particles on the one hand and the number of cigarettes passing through on the other the average end dropout. The mass transducer includes a vertically movably resiliently mounted pushrod which is held in its desired position by an electromagnetic return system. The magnitude of the current supplied to an electromagnetic return system represents a measure of the mass of the collected tobacco particles.
