    Abstract: In a device for the electric measurement of the level of a liquid in a container, particularly in the gasoline tank of a vehicle, a support developed as protective tube of a conductor foil is fastened for swinging against the force of a spring (14 and 21) to the top of the container. In order to be able to arrange the support even in containers in which the point of attachment of the support is lower than the highest level to be detected, the support is subdivided into three approximately rigid sections, (2, 3, 5) each two sections (3, 5) being articulated in the manner of a toggle joint to each other and being under spring action. In this way the outermost section (3) is swung, substantially independently of the inside height of the container, on the one end towards the bottom (4) and on the other end towards the top (1) of the container.

    Abstract: In a liquid-level transmitter having a swingable support lever (3) which bears a float (7) and a variable electrical resistor (9) actuated thereby, the variable resistor (9) is surrounded by a bell-shaped structural part (1) which is open towards the bottom but otherwise closed. In this way, as in the case of a diving bell, no liquid can enter into the bell-shaped structural part (1) when the level of the liquid rises above the height of the liquid-level transmitter, so that parts of the variable resistor are protected in simple fashion from corrosion due to contact with the liquid to be measured.

    Abstract: A suction device for a fuel feed unit in which the suction device has a rigid suction tube on which a suction head is arranged. The suction head is formed as a conically widening elastic bellows having a large suction opening which faces the bottom with a screen arranged in the opening. As a result of the development as an elastic bellows, the suction opening is held resting with initial spring tension (i.e., resilient prestress biasing) against the bottom of the fuel tank.

    Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for electrically locking the doors of motor vehicles, wherein at least one motor is supported in a driver door and the motor is coupled with a lock mechanism by means of a connecting element, with a first switch coupled with the motor to be actuated thereby and a second switch coupled with the lock mechanism to be actuated thereby and also coupled with the first switch and with the motor, and the switches are connected with at least one additional motor coupled with a further lock mechanism. Structure is included to change the direction of the force exerted by the motor on the lock mechanism, for locking or unlocking the doors, respectively.

    Abstract: A liquid level measuring device for measuring the liquid level in a container, includes a fastening member for holding the device in a container, and a support with a lower end portion or prop extending into engagement with the container bottom. The support carries a liquid level sensing member and is connected to the fastening member through a resiliently yieldable connection, whereby the support is continuously urged into a constant position relative to the container bottom, so that an accurate indication is obtained of the liquid level in the container.

    Abstract: A liquid level indicating device for indicating a predetermined liquid level in a container includes a mounting member mounted on the container, a float movable with the level of liquid in the container and actuating an electrical switch when the float is at the predetermined liquid level in the container, and a coupling pivotally supporting the float on the mounting member and adjustable in orientation to permit the float to pivot in various planes. The coupling can be an angularly movable clutch such as a universal joint or a ball and socket joint or the coupling can be in the form of a resilient hinge.
