    Abstract: An electrical connector consisting of two coupling halves equipped with contact elements wherein the contact elements are inserted into an elastically resilient insulator with the contact elements of one coupling half having a spherical contact surface and with the contact elements of the other coupling half having an inclined trough-shaped contact surface for mating contact whereupon mating of the contact elements induces lateral relative motion of the contact elements with rubbing action cleaning the contact surfaces and with pushing away dirt particles contained in the trough.
