  • Patent number: 11940175
Abstract: A sound level control system for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system is provided. The sound level control system comprises an outdoor unit with a compressor, an outdoor fan, and an outdoor controller and a communication device located at a predefined distance from the outdoor unit. The communication device measures sound levels in response to operating the outdoor unit. The outdoor controller is configured to receive a first noise level limit for a predefined time period, receive an instruction related to selective control of the outdoor unit, selectively control both of the compressor to rotate at a first compressor speed and the outdoor fan to rotate at a first fan speed based on the noise level limit for the predefined time period, and receive information related to whether a sound pressure level at a predefined location exceeds the first noise level limit for the predefined time period.

  • Patent number: 11609227
Abstract: A field apparatus (also referred to as a “biosampler”) is configured to automatically capture multiple samples of an aqueous medium (for example, water from a lake) and process same to preserve unstable analytes in the field. In this way, a set of samples from the aqueous medium can, for example, be captured at multiple points in time, processed with a biopreservative to preserve unstable analytes (for example, RNA) and then later collected for further analysis. • Patent number: 10325485
Abstract: An industrial safety system implements predictive method of detecting possible hazardous interactions between humans and machines or other hazardous entities. The system receives sensor data indicative of the locations of people and hazardous entities within the plant environment. Sensor data corresponding to each detected entity is aggregated, ranked, and weighed based on determined reliabilities of the respective data sources. The resulting ranked and weighed location information is tracked and analyzed by the system to determine current and predicted trajectories of the detected objects, and the system analyzes these trajectories to determine a probability of a future hazardous interaction between a human and a hazardous entity. In response to determining that a likelihood of a future hazardous interaction between a person and a machine exists, the system delivers a control output that places the machine in a safe state or a notification output warning of the hazard.

  • Publication number: 20070039543
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a zeroth-order or low-order phase delay element, in particular a phase delay element for wavelengths ?<200 nm, the phase delay element being formed from a birefringent crystalline material. In this case, an anisotropic crystal plate connected via a first connecting layer to a first carrier plate is connected to a second carrier plate on the side averted from the first carrier plate by means of a second connecting layer. The two connecting layers are sequentially removed, and an immersion liquid is respectively applied to the exposed surfaces of the anisotropic crystal plate and a support plate is mounted in each case.

  • Publication number: 20060187430
Abstract: A microlithographic projection exposure apparatus contains an illumination system for generating projection light and a projection lens with which a reticle that is capable of being arranged in an object plane of the projection lens can be imaged onto a light-sensitive layer that is capable of being arranged in an image plane of the projection lens. The projection lens is designed for immersion mode, in which a final lens element of the projection lens on the image side is immersed in an immersion liquid. A terminating element that is transparent in respect of the projection is fastened between the final lens element on the image side and the light-sensitive layer.

  • Publication number: 20050274897
Abstract: There is provided an illumination system that includes (a) a light source that emits light having a wavelength ?193 nm, where the light provides a predetermined illumination in a plane distant from the light source and defines a used area in the plane, and (b) a sensor, situated in or near the plane, for detecting light outside the used area.

  • Patent number: 6516647
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing the outer part of a constant velocity joint, the outer part having in the finished condition a hollow chamber with a cylinder-shaped inner wall, in which there are provided ball raceways (1c) which run obliquely of the cylinder axis and are inclined with respect to one another. First, a wobble press die (4) is axially introduced into a goblet-shaped preliminary workpiece (1a) for the outer part having a conically developing inner and outer wall and pre-formed ball raceways (1c) in the inner wall. The preliminary workpiece (1a) is pressed (drawing process) by means of the wobble press die (4), sitting on the floor of the hollow chamber, through an opening in an outer die (2), so that a drawing process is carried out in which the preliminary workpiece (1a) is so cold formed that the inner wall of the hollow chamber is given a cylindrical shape.

  • Patent number: 4661255
Abstract: A multilayer filter material is described which comprises a coarse and a fine filter layer, while the individual filter layers contain a share of natural fibres and are interconnected with each other on the paper machine, without the use of a bonding agent, whereby the coarse filter layer consists of a mixture of natural and synthetic fibres and at least one part of said synthetic fibres is structured, and synthetic fibres lying on the surface of the coarse filter layer protrude from the plane of the filter material. Moreover a process for the manufacture of the multilayer filter material and its use is described. The inventive multilayer filter material is distinguished against comparable conventional filters by an increased service life and a better degree of separation.

  • Patent number: 4634935
Abstract: Gas discharge display device having a vacuum-tight envelope with a front and back plate. A control unit divides the interior of the envelope filled with gas into a back and front space. The back space has at least one plasma cathode and at least one plasma anode. The front plate carries a cathodoluminescent layer and a layer electrode. The control unit contains at least one electrode plane extending parallel to the wall plates, with at least one conductor. In operation a gas discharge burns between the plasma electrodes. The distance between the post-acceleration anode and cathode is small such that no gas discharge is ignited in the post-acceleration space. The post-acceleration cathode is coated with an implantation protection layer of a high-melting metal to maintain the operating voltage constant under continuous load.

  • Patent number: 4329626
Abstract: A plasma display device is provided with a gas discharge device which is filled with hydrogen as an ionizable gas and contains an aluminum cathode which is maintained continuously coated during the gas discharge with a film of an aluminum oxide which is either resistant to the hydrogen gas discharge, or the non-resistant portions of which are re-formed into the oxide by means of an additive. This plasma display device can be provided for flat picture screens, particularly of television sets, because during the required life of the gas discharge device, a premature rise of the operating voltage is prevented and, at the same time, there is little sputtering effect.
