  • Patent number: 9782809
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a roll for rolling flat metal products having a barrel section coated with a wear-resistant layer and journals formed thereon, and a main body blank which includes a barrel section and two blank journal sections The barrel section is encased with a jacket which is connected, with its edge regions associated with the blank journal sections, in a sealed manner, to the associated end faces of the blank journal sections, and limits a cavity surrounding the barrel section. The cavity is filled with an alloy powder. The wear-resistant layer coating of the barrel section, which forms a substance-to-substance bond with said barrel section, is then formed from said alloy powder through hot isostatic pressing. The jacket is then removed from the barrel section, the blank journal sections are formed into the journals and the barrel section and the journals are finished.

  • Patent number: 4964326
Abstract: A machine tool with a machine frame open at three sides, in the shape of the letter C, having upper and lower die supports disposed on the machine frame, a drive cradle disposed on the upper die support, a saddle plate disposed on the lower die support and a tool unit comprised or an upper die and a lower die in a guide frame. The machine tool has in particular a cutting unit or a coping unit, with T-groove coupling means being provided on the upper and lower die supports for connection with tool unit; wherein said tool unit as a whole is insertable between the upper and the lower die supports in the longitudinal direction of the machine frame from the direction of the open front end. In operations the tool unit is highly flexible because the saddle plate is rotatable in the horizontal plane with respect to the lower die support.

  • Patent number: 4381169
Abstract: A support carriage of a manipulator carries an outrigger arm on which is mounted a grab assembly. Upper and lower jaws pivotal on the assembly about respective superposed upper and lower parallel axes can be moved by an actuator head engaging both of these jaws from an open position in which the jaws are pivoted apart from each other to a closed position in which the jaws are pivoted together. The lower jaw is moved at first into the closed position and locked therein before the upper jaw is moved all the way down into the closed position.
