  • Patent number: 4800033
Abstract: A process for non-cutting reshaping of metals using polymers in the form of homopolymers and copolymers of 1-olefins, of oxidation products of such homopolymers or copolymers, or of saponification or esterification products of these oxidation products as lubricants. The polymers are solid and preferably have melting points above 100.degree. C. and melt viscosities of greater than 100 mPa s at 170.degree. C., the acid indices in the oxidation products having a value of greater than 5.These lubricants can be employed in pure solid form or in the form of compositions in which they are present as a mixture with lubricant additives and/or suspending agents, dispersing agents or solvents which are known per se.
