  • Patent number: 6634469
Abstract: The present invention relates to a spot-type disc brake for automotive vehicles and an associated brake pad with a retaining device for the brake pad (1) on an actuating means (2), with the brake pad (1) being additionally clamped to a pad mounting support. These two functions are assumed by two separate spring means (4, 13) according to the present invention. A first spring means (4) clamps the brake pad (1) axially with respect to the actuating means (2), especially a brake piston, and a second spring means (13) ensures the radially rattle-free clamping engagement of the brake pad (1) with respect to an associated pad mounting support. Both spring means (4, 13) are active irrespective of each other so that undesirable transverse forces on the actuating means (2), i.e., vertically to the axial direction (3), are avoided.

  • Patent number: 6427810
Abstract: The invention relates to a spot-type disc brake for automotive vehicle with a floating caliper (2) displaceably borne on a vehicle-fixed brake support (1) and bridging a brake disc as well as brake pads (7,8) arranged on both sides of the brake disc, where the brake pads (7,8) are axially displaceably guided in the brake support (1). To achieve a particularly radially rattle-free fixation of the brake pads (7,8) as well as the floating caliper (2) on the brake support (1), it is provided to support the floating caliper (2) on its, with respect to the vehicle, outside on the brake support (1) through the outer brake pad (7). To this end, the outer brake pad (7) is radially locked on the brake support (1), and the outer brake pad (7) itself on the corresponding housing leg (13).

  • Patent number: 5427213
Abstract: A brake pad for disc brakes is provided in which the brake pad comprises a damping plate attached to the reverse face of a lining carrier plate. The damping plate is attached to the lining carrier plate by way of projections which are molded on the lining carrier plate and extend into corresponding apertures of the damping plate. The external ends of the projections are widened so that the damping plate is pressed against the reverse face of the lining carrier plate.

  • Patent number: 4867280
Abstract: A brake system of the type having a disc-type wheel brake hydraulically operated by a master cylinder through connecting lines is disclosed. The system includes a member which divides the wheel brake into two chambers, one adjacent to the brake piston filled with a hydraulic fluid specifically formulated for meeting certain expected operating conditions in the wheel brakes. The second chamber is connected to the hydraulic lines and is filled with a second fluid specially formulated for meeting certain other different expected operating conditions in the lines and master cylinder.
