  • Patent number: 4279559
Abstract: A support installation is provided for use with large, cylindrical loads to provide rotational and longitudinal movement therefor. The support includes a plurality of non-driven all-round rolls and at least one driven all-round roll, the principal rotational axes of the non-driven rolls being parallel to the load and the rotational axis of the driven roll being perpendicular thereto. The rolls engage the circumference of the load for rotational and longitudinal movement. A U-shaped bracket fixedly or yieldably supports the rolls.

  • Patent number: 3944055
Abstract: An integrally formed, molded plastic end member for a conveyor roller having a cylindrical portion insertable in a roller tube and a portion protruding from the end with a shoulder formed on the outside to limit insertion. The insertable portion has an inner sleeve loosely surrounding a supporting shaft, an outer sleeve which fits into the tube, and radial webs connecting the two sleeves. The protruding portion has one or more gear rings formed on the outside of an outer sleeve and an inner sleeve which defines a cavity to receive a ball bearing outer race, the inner race thereof surrounding the shaft. The protruding portion also has webs extending between the inner and outer sleeves. Two rings supported on the shaft and inner sleeve, respectively, form a labyrinth seal to protect the ball bearing.

  • Patent number: 3934951
Abstract: Components for roller assemblies including a cylindrical roller pipe, and first and second end members having internal roller bearings, the end members being slidable onto a fixed cylindrical axle and into the ends of the pipe. Hubs on the end members frictionally engage the inside of the pipe, and a flange abuts the end of the pipe. A plurality of hollow frustoconical members are slidable over the pipe in end-to-end relationship surrounding the pipe between the end members, the outer surfaces of the frustoconical members making equal angles with the axes thereof, the members being of graduated sizes so that the smaller end of one member has an outer surface diameter equal to the larger end of the next adjacent member to form a continuous frustoconical outer surface along the length of the assembly.
