  • Patent number: 5843198
Abstract: An air filter for providing a reusable frame and disposable filter media. The air filter includes a frame defining a channel into which a filter medium is removably received and replaceable with another filter medium. This frame also provides a nonconductive static electricity isolator for static charge retainment. A sealing member is secured to the outer surface of the frame to provide a seal between the frame and the HVAC filter mounting assembly into which the frame is inserted. The sealing member is configured to insure an air tight seal such that the air is forced through the filter medium before the air is circulated into a room.
