  • Patent number: 9277100
Abstract: In a method to control a printer or copier, a color measurement unit is provided for determining a measurement value of a print marking in a measurement region of color measurement unit. The print marking is printed on the printing substrate web. In addition a positioning marking is also printed on the printing substrate web in a predetermined position relative to the print marking in order to determine a relative position between the print marking and the measurement region of the color measurement unit. The positioning marking comprises at least two partial regions printed in different colors, the partial regions being formed such that a determined color value of the positioning marking changes given a movement of the measurement region of the color measurement unit transverse to a movement direction of the printing substrate web. A real color value is determined with the color measurement unit if the measurement region of the color measurement unit is arranged in a region of the positioning marking.

  • Patent number: 7801472
Abstract: In a method or device for simultaneous double-sided printing of a recording medium, the first toner image having toner charged with a first polarity is generated on a first transfer belt and a second toner image having toner also charged with the first polarity is generated on a second transfer belt. A charge shifting device is provided along with a recharging device. At least one of the charge shifting device and the recharging device has a corotron. With the charge shifting device, the charge of the first toner image is shifted to a second polarity opposite to the first polarity and with the recharging device the second toner image with the first polarity is recharged. The recording medium is passed between the first and the second transfer belts.

  • Patent number: 7787811
Abstract: A continuous intermediate image carrier for an electrophotographic printer or copier has an electrical conductivity in a thickness direction between two opposite measurement points which is smaller than between two laterally-offset measurement points on opposite sides of the intermediate image carrier.

  • Patent number: 7333756
Abstract: In a method and system for transport of toner material, a reservoir arrangement containing the toner material is provided with a removal opening for removal of the toner material. The toner material is transported away from the removal opening with aid of a tube-shaped conduit, the toner material being transported in the tube-shaped conduit via an air current. A negative pressure is generated relative to environment pressure at the removal opening via the air current in the tube-shaped conduit. The reservoir arrangement is provided with at least one air-permeable and toner-tight region through which air is sucked into the reservoir arrangement upon application of the negative pressure. At least the air-permeable and toner-tight region is partitioned airtight from the environment, environment air being supplied to the partitioned region via a dosing nozzle.

  • Patent number: 6556804
Abstract: A printer or copier operates to print a carrier material on both sides. A transfer station in the printer or copier has two transfer bands which transfer toner images onto the supporting material. A transfer corotron recharges the toner particles to a polarity for transfer to the carrier material at a transfer location. A first transfer mode provides for accumulating a plurality of toner images on the transfer band before transfer to the carrier material. A second transfer mode provides continuous transfer of the toner image to the carrier material.
