  • Patent number: 10163170
Abstract: An authoring environment is provided by which a modeler can design a product configuration model from which a user interface is generated, the latter of which is user-interactable (or customer-interactable) for product configuration. A plurality of options offered for a particular product are definable, and states, which can correspond to respective user interface screens, for example, are definable, which refer to defined options. The modeler can use the authoring environment to associate groups of one or more previously defined options with respective ones of the defined states, for example, for population of the screens to which the states correspond with the associated group of options. The authoring environment provides for the modeler to be able to define transition rules between the defined states/screens. A modeler engine converts the model designed using the authoring environment into a product configuration usable by customers.

  • Patent number: 8560358
Abstract: Generation of an engineering change case is initiated by associating an identified problem for a product with an engineering change case template. The engineering change case can include a plurality of structured folders that can be populated with content characterizing the identified problem as well as proposed solutions to the identified problem with each folder being assignable to one or more users and having associated deliverables for such users. The various users populate the folders with content associated with the deliverables with at least a portion of the deliverables being delegable and requiring completion in a sequential order. Thereafter, generation of the engineering case can be finalized when an indication is received that all deliverables requiring approval have been completed. Otherwise, the engineering change case can be canceled. Related apparatus, systems, techniques and articles are also described.

  • Publication number: 20130024790
Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods for linking product configuration tool with networking site(s) are described herein. In one aspect, the method includes receiving a data to identify the product configuration tool, selecting an active tag on the networking site, based upon the active tag, sending a command to the product configuration tool, in response to the command, receiving one or more resultant data, and rendering a context menu including the one or more resultant data on the networking site. The product configuration tool(s) may be accessed while writing or reading a blog on the networking site. Further, a user can easily compose the blog, e.g., by selecting a resultant data from the context menu. Additionally, the context menu provides context(s) related to the active tag. Moreover, configuration UIs for maintaining knowledge base and/or visualizing a configuration of the product configuration tool can be accessed from the networking site(s).

  • Publication number: 20060026194
Abstract: In a system and method for interacting with dynamic data, a plurality of static pages associated with corresponding products of a database may be generated, operability of a plurality of dynamic pages that is each associated with a corresponding product of the database may be maintained subsequent to the generation of the static pages, an interactive session may be established in response to a request for a dynamic page but not in response to a request for a static page, and submission of a static page to a webcrawler may be omitted without a request from the webcrawler for the static page.
