  • Patent number: 5001923
Abstract: A process to measure the moisture permeability between a liquid and a solid body is described, which is of importance for determining the suitability of material combinations. In the course of the process, the oscillation behavior of an oscillating system is changed when a solid body or test object is immersed in a liquid by the interaction of surface tension forces between the surface of the solid body or test object and the fluid. The change in the oscillation behavior or the transfer of oscillation energy between the solid object and the fluid is then used as an indicator of the strength of the surface tension force.

  • Patent number: 4118256
Abstract: A process for the production of oxygen free copper castings and moldings, which contain 0.05 to 0.2% by weight of boron as micro-alloy element, by deoxidation of oxygen containing copper melts by means of calcium hexaboride, comprising introducing 0.3-1% by weight of a CaB.sub.6 into the copper melt, the CaB.sub.6 containing at least 3% C calculated on the weight of the CaB.sub.6, subsequently subjecting the cooled melt, if desired while molding the same, to a solution annealing operation and following up with a storage for an extended time.
