  • Patent number: 5968796
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and its use for the transformation of vectors, host organisms and plants and for the breeding of plants with a high resistance to herbicides.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 16, 1997
Date of Patent: October 19, 1999
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 4969738
Abstract: The present invention provides a carrier band which is movable stepwise in its longitudinal direction past an optical measurement device and on its side facing the measurement device carries test strips to be impregnated with a test liquid running transversely to its longitudinal direction, wherein the test strips are fixed on the carrier band at equal distances to one another at least next to the edges of the carrier band. The present invention also provides a device for fixing test strips on to a carrier band.

  • Patent number: 4814144
Abstract: A rotor unit for a centrifugal analyzer comprises a rotatably-driven circular rotor base; and a rotor head comprising a plurality of insert elements each having at least one chamber sample for the reception of a sample liquid, at least one measuring chamber radially outwardly from the associated sample chamber for the measurement of characteristic parameters for the detection of components of the sample, at least one liquid channel connecting the sample chamber with the measuring chamber and each insert element is releasably mounted on the rotor base at any one of a plurality of different selectable angular positions wherein the insert element is positionally stable when the rotor base is rotating.

  • Patent number: 4676952
Abstract: A photometric liquid analysis apparatus of the centrifugal analysis type uses insert elements having an elongated body, an optical measurement chamber near one end of the elongated body and a positioning trough on one side of the elongated body. The photometric liquid analysis apparatus has a rotor for rotating the insert elements to photometric means for photometric analysis of a liquid then in the optical measurement chamber of the insert element during the rotation of the rotor. The rotor has radial guiding chambers, each having an opening at an end thereof adjacent the outer periphery of the rotor and a configuration for receiving one of the insert elements with its positioning trough on a lateral side thereof and adjacent the outer periphery of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4153513
Abstract: Enzyme substrates in aqueous liquids are continuously measured by introducing a sample containing the substrate to be determined into a current of buffer solution, reacting the substrate on an immobilized enzyme and measuring, in a measurement chamber, a physical change in the solution brought about by the reaction, wherein a current of buffer solution containing the sample to be determined is passed alternatingly (i) directly through the measurement chamber with the production of a reference signal and (ii) first over the immobilized enzyme and thereafter through the measurement chamber with the production of a measurement signal, and relating the reference signal to the measurement signal to indicate the enzyme substrate initially present.
