  • Patent number: 4190740
Abstract: A circuit arrangement is described for the reception and transmission of switching data associated with communication signals being transmitted to or from an exchange in a telecommunication system. In the system the signals are transmitted between exchanges by pulse code modulation techniques. Each exchange is provided with separate receiving/transmitting devices for the communication signals and the switching data signals, and each communication receiver/transmitter has a switching data receiver/transmitter assigned thereto. The latter are connected to a common control unit.

  • Patent number: 4146748
Abstract: A switching arrangement for pulse code modulation (PCM) time division multiplex telecommunication switching system is described. The frame storages for incoming and outgoing directions of transmission as well as their address memories, and the crosspoint address memory form a memory unit. The frame storages are read-in in cyclic sequence and read out selectively and it is possible to transfer information from anyone of the frame storages to either the same PCM trunk or to the space division switching network. Thus, there is a possibility both for return switching to the same PCM trunk and for switching through other switching units in a time-space-space-time format.

  • Patent number: 4037054
Abstract: In an exchange of a telecommunication network, which operates according to pulse code modulation (PCM) techniques, a circuit arrangement is described for monitoring the performance of a plurality of PCM couplers. The incoming and outgoing lines for the exchange are connected to the couplers, and the couplers are interconnected. An additional coupler is provided, and the input thereof is connected to the inputs of each of the other PCM couplers. The outputs of the additional coupler and the other couplers are connected, respectively, to inputs of a comparator which produces an error signal output. The error signal is used as the basis for determining whether the tested couplers are operating properly. Central control apparatus connects the additional coupler as a test unit or as a substitute for a defective coupler.

  • Patent number: 3970794
Abstract: The clock pulse supply in a PCM time-division having modular switching facilities within the switching centers is produced by a clock generator associated with the module which steps a time-slot counter that counts in a time sequence, remains stopped, or is backspaced such that it is capable of accessing the main store of the center as well as the address memories of said module.
