  • Patent number: 5793150
Abstract: A flat seal having a first and a second sealing surface made of polymer material is disclosed. Each of the polymer sealing surfaces is made of a formed-fabric-reinforced cover layer. At least two of these cover layers together provide a flexible, electrical printed-circuit board, whose material completely surrounds electrical interconnect traces in the sealing areas. The interconnect traces are provided with connecting conductors, which are brought with terminal pads out of the printed-circuit board. The material of the cover layers has an electrical resistance of at least 10.sup.8 ohm and provides insulation for the interconnect traces.

  • Patent number: 5179149
Abstract: A process for manufacturing nonwoven materials such as floor or wall coverings from natural or synthetic oils and natural or synthetic elastomers is carried out in two reaction phases. In the first reaction phase, a mixture of a stand oil or an equivalent synthetic polymer oil is homogenized with fillers and partially polymerized and partially crosslinked at high temperature to form an intermediate product I. The ground intermediate product I is then homogenized with a natural or synthetic elastomer, in particular natural rubber, fillers and a peroxide and crosslinked and polymerized at a high temperature. The process is suitable for manufacturing homogeneous and possibly marbled floor coverings based on natural materials and processing outstanding physical and optical properties.

  • Patent number: 4727724
Abstract: A cryosorption pump for perpetuating a thermal insulating vacuum in the superconducting rotor of an electric machine, in particular, a turbogenerator, is constructed in a co-rotating transfer part of the rotor along the axis of rotation thereof. The rotor comprises a superconducting exciter winding part which is to be cooled by a cryogenic coolant, and to which winding part the coolant is introduced via at least one appropriate coolant supply line. The chambers of the rotor winding part to be evacuated are directly connected to the cryosorption pump in the co-rotating transfer part. Furthermore, the cryosorption pump is thermally connected within the co-rotating transfer part with the at least one coolant supply line.

  • Patent number: 4520063
Abstract: A forgery-proof flat article, for example, for the production of banking cards, credit cards, and the like, is provided with a security feature analogous to a watermark and is made of thermoplastic and elastomeric synthetic resins based on transparent, translucent, or colored sheets made by extrusion, calendering, blow-molding, or spread coating, or composite sheets therefrom, with an application of a colorant, capable of migrating, to the surface in the presence of a crosslinkable component in the flat article and/or in the colorant application. The colorant application, upon reaching the desired migration depth of the applied colorant, is fixed in the flat article by a crosslinking reaction.

  • Patent number: 4447488
Abstract: A shaped article of a polymeric material has a shaped structure containing at least one polymeric component which is weldable, e.g. by heat, and at least one polymeric component which can be crosslinked by high-energy radiation. The crosslinkable polymeric component is homogeneously distributed within the shaped structure and is crosslinked at least partially in a part of the shaped structure, including at least a portion of the shaped structure.

  • Patent number: 4443392
Abstract: A process for the production of decorated molded articles wherein a base article is produced by casting and/or compression molding from a hardenable substance containing a minor amount of a thermosetting synthetic resin and a hardener therefor, and a major amount of at least one inert filler, and, optionally, accelerators, colorants and other auxiliary materials and by providing the article with a surface layer of hardenable lacquer resin.

  • Patent number: 4352672
Abstract: A process for the production of colorful and figurative designs of shaped synthetic-resin articles with the use of colorants, involves the step of coloring a shaped article formed of a synthetic resin at least partially with a colorant that changes color by being exposed to ionizing rays and the step of exposing the article to ionizing rays in selected zones corresponding to the figurative design until color changes are achieved.

  • Patent number: 4297099
Abstract: A process for producing colored synthetic resin sheet material having a unicolored or multicolored dye coating applied to one surface thereof and extending into said surface in a uniform manner involves applying a dye-containing material or composition to at least one selective portion of the surface of a synthetic resin sheet material that contains at least one reactive, crosslinkable component, where the dye-containing material is capable of migrating into a non-porous sheet formed of the synthetic resin; controlling the migration of the dye material into the sheet material to a desired depth; and then initiating crosslinking of the crosslinkable component to stop further migration of the dye-containing material.
