  • Patent number: 11318994
Abstract: A motor vehicle having a crash energy-absorption device includes a body, an electric hybrid drive or electric drive with an electrical machine and a vehicle battery, and an axle support. A support of the axle support is provided between the body-in-white of the motor vehicle and the axle support and/or a crash cross-beam for the axle support is provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 13, 2018
Date of Patent: May 3, 2022
    Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventor: Karlheinz Volz
  • Patent number: 11135909
Abstract: A storage cell unit for a motor vehicle having an electric drive has a housing, in which storage cells are arranged. The housing has an energy absorption region, which is deformable in event of a collision for the purpose of energy absorption.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 18, 2015
Date of Patent: October 5, 2021

  • Patent number: 9567010
Abstract: A motor vehicle body has a longitudinal beam and a bumper cross member, which is fixed to one end of the longitudinal beam. An end section of the bumper cross member protrudes over the longitudinal beam in the transverse direction. The end section of the bumper cross member is designed as a closed or open hollow profile element. A collision-resistant profile reinforcement is provided at least in some regions in the hollow profile element in the end section of the bumper cross member.

  • Patent number: 9555834
Abstract: A motor vehicle body includes a longitudinal beam, a bumper cross member, which is fixed to one end of the longitudinal beam, wherein an end section of the bumper cross member protrudes over the longitudinal beam in the transverse direction, and a cantilever beam, which protrudes into a space between a wheel mount and the bumper cross member. The cantilever beam and the end section of the bumper cross member are disposed so as to cooperate with each other such that, during a frontal collision, in particular during a frontal collision with small overlap, the end section of the bumper cross member deformed by the frontal collision impacts an end face of the cantilever beam and can be supported at this end face so that further deformation of the end section of the bumper cross member is prevented.
