Abstract: A method and apparatus for enabling a user to access media objects, such as images, from a website without requiring the user to enter the website. In one embodiment, a search engine searches for websites that match a submitted search term. A selected URL to one of the resulting websites is submitted to a harvester that accesses a web page of the selected website and identifies a media object of the web page. The harvester determines the characteristic(s) of the media object, such as a dimension, an aspect ratio, a proximity to other media objects, etc. The harvester determines a second media object with substantially the same characteristic(s). The determined media objects, or subportions, are rendered in a client user interface. Relationships are mapped between a selected media object and projects that use the object. Manipulating a rendered portion causes a related operation on the whole media object.

Abstract: Configuring a computing device to capture content, and distributing the content to one or more content destinations at a point of capture. The user select the content destinations from a list of destinations, or the content destinations are selected automatically based on previous user activities or selections. Configuration data sets corresponding to the selected content destinations are accessed. Content capture settings from the configuration data sets are applied to the computing device. The computing device captures the content in accordance with the applied content capture settings. Without further user input, the captured content is transmitted to each of the selected content destinations.

Abstract: Quarantining data received while a computing device is locked. While the computing device is locked, content items such as images, notifications, voice memos, telephone numbers, and the like are stored in a first memory area. The content items are transferred to a second memory area, separate from the first memory area, based on transfer criteria associated with the content items. For example, images may be automatically uploaded to a web page after the computing device is unlocked, while a mail program executes to display any messages received while the display has been locked. In some embodiments, the user inputs the content items into a locked mobile computing device and further provides the transfer criteria for the content items.

Abstract: Providing content and/or functionality through a display of a locked computing device. Configuration data defined by a user or application vendor identifies the content and/or functionality to be made available. Upon receipt of the content, the computing device modifies the received content based on the configuration data and provides the modified content to the user through the display of the locked computing device. The computing device also interacts with the user in accordance with the functionality identified by the configuration data. In some embodiments, notifications about voice mail or electronic mail messages are displayed to the user through a locked touch screen display. Responsive to a finger tap or other user input, additional yet limited information relating to the notifications is displayed.

Abstract: Techniques for customizing draw styles of widgets to better accommodate a user's direct manipulation needs. A user can customize various attributes of a widget and its manipulators to suit the user's needs. The customizations are stored as a style. The stored style can subsequently be applied to the widget to control the appearance and behavior of the widget. Stored styles may be applied to other widgets and can also be shared between users.

Abstract: A method for a computer system includes displaying a toolbar region with user selectable icons on a display, positioning a cursor on the display over the toolbar region, and receiving a first command from the user while the cursor is positioned over the toolbar region, wherein the first command from the user comprises pressing and holding of a button on a user input device, displaying additional user selectable icons on the display in response to the first command, positioning the cursor on the display over one user selectable icon, and receiving a second command from the user while the cursor is positioned on the one user selectable icon, wherein the second command from the user comprises releasing the button on the user input device, wherein the one user icon and the user selectable icons are then displayed in the toolbar region in response to the second command.

Abstract: A system and method for providing search results in visually illustrative concept format is disclosed. Concepts relating to a query term are identified. The search results comprise a conceptual search result entry for each identified concept. Each conceptual search result entry includes at least a visual content and textual content relating to its respective identified concept. The content for a given conceptual search result entry can come from different sources.

Abstract: A system and method for providing paid content relating to search results in visually illustrative concept format is disclosed. Concepts relating to a query term are identified. The search results comprise a conceptual search result entry for each identified concept.
