Abstract: An insert for a surgical clamp includes an integral structure having a spine, a connecting web, and a contact portion, wherein the spine is an elongate structure having a lower surface defining structure to engage a jaw of the clamp; the contact portion has a textured surface configured to contact tissue; and the web extends between an upper surface of the spine and the contact portion and flexibly supports the contact portion above the upper surface of the spine. An overmold can be applied to the integral structure to surround the web and parts of the contact portion with the textured surface exposed through the overmold.

Abstract: An occlusion device includes an elongate shaft; a lower jaw extending from a distal end of the elongate shaft; an upper jaw pivotably mounted relative to the lower jaw; and a control member at a proximal end of the elongate shaft, the control member being operatively associated with the upper jaw to cause pivot of the upper jaw relative to the lower jaw. A method is also disclosed.

A surgical clamp utilizing the pad is also disclosed.
