Abstract: A postamble structure is immediately attached to a data block that does not contain sufficient information with regard to channel identification. This postamble structure has, for each antenna, a channel estimation section with a channel estimation sequence. A transmission mode in a respective station is selected based on of the received channel sequence.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for generating preamble structures and signaling structures for a data signal in a MIMO-OFDM transmission system with a multitude of antennas. To this end, the preamble structure has, for each antenna, a synchronization section with a predetermined synchronization sequence and has a channel estimation section with a predetermined channel estimation sequence. The synchronization sequences fulfill equations (I) and (II). Alternatively, the channel estimation sequence can fulfill equation (III). This makes it possible to realize efficient and downlink compatible MIMO transmission systems.

Abstract: A method for controlling the transmission of data via data connections associated with different applications, by means of a transmission medium in a local network having at least two stations for data transmission. Different priorities and different parameters characterizing a quality of service are associated with the applications. The establishment, by a first station, of a new data connection associated with a first application is limited according to the available free channel capacity of the transmission medium and the use of the transmission medium by existing data connections having associated applications containing a priority corresponding to the first application.
