  • Publication number: 20240088622
Abstract: In one embodiment the semiconductor laser comprises a carrier and an edge-emitting laser diode which is mounted on the carrier and which comprises an active zone for generating a laser radiation and a facet with a radiation exit region. The semiconductor laser further comprises a protective cover, preferably a lens for collimation of the laser radiation. The protective cover is fastened to the facet and to a side surface of the carrier by means of an adhesive. A mean distance between a light entrance side of the protective cover and the facet is at most 60 ?m. The semiconductor laser is configured to be operated in a normal atmosphere without additional gas-tight encapsulation.

  • Patent number: 9072589
Abstract: An arrangement for carrying out surgical laser treatments of the eye is adapted to emit pulsed treatment radiation with a wavelength of between about 190 nm and about 380 nm and a pulse duration in the femtosecond range. Such treatment radiation allows nonaggressive corneal or intraocular laser treatment of the eye, for example in order to make corneal cuts or deliberately ablate corneal tissue.

  • Publication number: 20080125645
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for nuclear magnetic resonance examination of intracorporal sections of a person's body, the device having a coil arrangement which can be placed in immediate vicinity of an intracorporal section of the body which a stationary magnetic polarization field B0 and a radio-frequency alternating field penetrate. A coil arrangement is integrated in an encapsulated, self-sufficient unit having a shape and size that a person is able to swallow it and a transmitter unit, is connected to the coil arrangement which transmits induction signals coming from the coil arrangement wirelessly to an extracorporal receiving unit, which is integrated in the encapsulated self-sufficient unit.

  • Patent number: 5901954
Abstract: A collecting station (1) has a first (3) and a second lateral side guide (4) which are movable transversely to the direction of transport (A). The first side guide (3) has a rigid alignment surface (3a) with a convex, arcuate surface and, for the alignment of a deposited sheet, is moved at a first, high speed to an intermediate position and from there at a second, lower speed to the alignment end position. The second side guide (4) is provided with flexible bristles (5) which compensate for sheet tolerances and which are inclined downwards at an angle of 45.degree.. When the first side guide (3) comes to a standstill, the second side guide (4) is moved at a high speed to the alignment end position, then at a high speed back to an intermediate position in which contact with the sheets is no longer established, and thereafter at a lower speed back again to the alignment end position. For the return of the side guides (3 or 4), firstly the second side guide (4) and then the first side guide (3) are moved.

  • Patent number: 5306144
Abstract: A device for detecting dental caries has an illumination device which emits radiation of a pre-determined wavelength towards a tooth. A filter accepts radiation returned by the tooth in a pre-determined spectral range. The accepted radiation is evaluated for caries detection. The illumination device has at least one light guide, by means of which the radiation can be supplied to the tooth. The illumination device emits radiation in the spectral range from 360 to 580 nm. The filter accepts the returned radiation in the spectral range above 620 nm. The device can be used in a flexible manner and enables a low level of caries to be identified.
