  • Patent number: 8394303
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing wood fiber insulating boards, wherein wood fibers are mixed with thermoplastic plastic fibers as binders and a fiber mat is produced therefrom, wherein multi-component fibers composed of at least one first and one second plastic component having different melting points are used as plastic fibers, wherein the fiber mat is heated in such a way that the second component of the plastic fiber softens and wherein the fiber mat is cooled down to produce the insulating board, characterized in that a steam/air mixture having a specified dew point flows through the fiber mat to heat the fiber mat and that multi-component plastic fibers are used as binders, the first component of which has a melting point above the dew point and the second component of which has a melting point below the dew point.

  • Publication number: 20120123022
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for continuously mixing fibers with a binding agent for producing fiberboards in a continuously operating mixing apparatus which comprises at least one mixing chamber and one or a plurality of mixing tools fastened to a rotating mixer shaft, wherein the mixing tools mix the fibers with the binding agent and convey it in a conveying direction through the mixer. Said method is characterized in that the rotational speed (n) of the mixer shaft and the diameter (d) of the mixing chamber are matched to each other with the proviso that the (nominal) centrifugal acceleration of the fibers in the region of the mixer inside wall is 10000 to 30000 m/sec2.

  • Patent number: 5135693
Abstract: The present invention is directed to improvements in apparatus and proces for the continuous production of inorganically bonded materials, the apparatus and process providing a pressureless transition zone without the action of pressure on a continuous sheet of material arranged between a high-pressure compression unit and the calibrating unit, and where the calibrating unit is immediately preceded by a recompression unit, which applies an active pressure on the continuous sheet of material after it passes through the pressureless zone and before it enters the calibrating unit and where this active pressure is sufficiently high that the nominal thickness of the continuous sheet of material is equal to or less than the finished continuous sheet of material and nominal density of the continuous sheet of material are equal to or greater than the density of the finished continuous sheet of material.

  • Patent number: 5102596
Abstract: Paper or cellulose pieces forming a fiber raw material are wetted with water prior to comminution so that the comminution into fibers is effected with the moistened raw material. The moisture content of the fibers makes up at least part of the water of hydration required to completely set the binder which is mixed with the fibers. The binder can be plaster (gypsum) or hydraulic cement. The mixture is pressed to the desired shape and heat may be applied.

  • Patent number: 5030289
Abstract: Durable molded construction parts are disclosed, which are prepared from hydration products of a settable construction material comprising a hydraulically hardening mixture and at least one reinforcing material subject to degradation under alkaline conditions. The construction material has an alkali buffer capacity which does not exceed 0.005 acid equivalents per 100 grams of construction material, as measured in an aqueous suspension of the construction material 24 hours after suspension formation.

  • Patent number: 4955171
Abstract: The invention relates to a building panel constructed in layers, including main layer with a mixture of binder and reinforcing additive, and at least one further layer which can be a facing and/or intermediate layer, the further layer including a reinforcement and a binder. The formation of a homogeneous transitional layer betwee the main layer and the further layer insures that the composition of the components of the individual layers changes gradually so as to provide a stable multilayer panel which was improved elastomechanical properties.

  • Patent number: 4923664
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a multilayer building panel in which one layer s a main layer comprising a binder and a reinforcing additive, and another layer contains a binder and a reinforcement such as a mat includes depositing the various layers such that one layer is deposited with an excess of water for hardening, and another with a deficiency, so that the water is caused to migrate between layers and creates a transition layer providing a gradual and continuous transition in composition between the layers.
