  • Publication number: 20180073550
Abstract: A shaft element of a turbomachine, in particular of a combined steam turbine, having at least two shaft subsegments integrally joined to each other by means of a weld, wherein different chemical and mechanical properties are inherent to the shaft subsegments, wherein the weld has a ratio of welding layer height to weld width of 1:14 to 1:2. A method produces a shaft element composed of two different materials having at least two shaft subsegments integrally joined to each other by means of a weld.

  • Patent number: 9162317
Abstract: A method for producing a part from ductile iron, including the steps of designing the part in such a way that the part is composed of a plurality of part components, producing the part components from ductile iron, providing the part components in pairs, depositing buffer material onto the rim edge of the first part component and onto the rim edge of the second part component by means of deposition welding, laying the second part component with the rim section thereof on the rim section of the first part component so that the rim edges lie against each other with the buffer materials thereof, and welding the rim sections, wherein the buffer material is selected in such a way that a structure change in the ductile iron material of the part components is prevented when the rim sections are welded.

  • Publication number: 20150158125
Abstract: A method for producing a welded joint is provided, including: providing an x-ray tube arranged within an x-ray housing for generating x-ray radiation and a detector arranged within a detector housing for receiving the x-ray radiation; flowing a cooling medium through the housing; heating components to be welded to the pre-heating temperature required for producing the welded joint; welding the welded joint; creating an exposure of the welded joint via the x-ray tubes and the detector at a temperature of the components which is essentially the pre-heating temperature or higher, wherein the cooling medium flows through the housing such that the x-ray tubes and the detector operate at the respective operating temperatures thereof.

  • Publication number: 20130119116
Abstract: A method for welding half shells and thus a method for producing large volume components, such as an inner housing for a steam turbine is disclosed. Two half shells are connected to each other forming a tube-like cross section, and are welded by means of a girth weld to two further half shells that are connected to each other.

  • Publication number: 20090041953
Abstract: In one aspect, a method for depositing a metallic substrate on a wall of a narrow depression of a metallic component is provided. A wire electrode is introduced into the depression and thereby bent in the direction of the wall by means of a guide. A suitable voltage is applied to the component and to the wire electrode in order to create an arc, which melts the wire electrode in certain regions. The molten material of the wire electrode is thereby deposited on the wall of the component. The wire electrode is progressively fed in during the depositing operation.
