  • Patent number: 7523927
Abstract: A deliverer module for a folder of a press includes a paddle wheel which receives products from the folder and subsequently deposits the products on a deliverer belt. At least the paddle wheel is displaceable in the horizontal and/or vertical direction relative to the folder.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 16, 2005
Date of Patent: April 28, 2009
    Assignee: MAN Roland Druchmaschinen AG
    Inventor: Karsten Stansch
  • Publication number: 20090064882
Abstract: An apparatus and method for forming cross folds in a web-fed printing press is disclosed. A folding unit has a longitudinal folding device and a cross folding device, which is arranged downstream from the longitudinal folding device, as seen in the transport direction of the printing substrate. The longitudinal folding device has one single former, where printing substrate webs entering the former as a strand are cut by a longitudinal cutting device assigned to the former or by at least one longitudinal cutting device assigned respectively to at least one printing substrate web of the strand by longitudinal cutting into partial webs, which exit the former as a strand, wherein the strand exiting the former can be divided downstream from the former and upstream from the cross folding device into at least three partial strands, and where a stitcher is assigned to at least one of the partial strands.

  • Patent number: 7399265
Abstract: A folding-jaw cylinder of a folder for a printing press is disclosed. Actuable folding-jaw cheeks are assigned to a first cylinder part of the folding-jaw cylinder and fixed folding-jaw cheeks are assigned to a second cylinder part. Both cylinder parts are assigned one shaft, via which the cylinder parts can be driven rotationally. An intermediate gear is coupled on one side to a drive and on the other side to at least one actuating unit in such a way that the intermediate gear can be driven by the drive and inputs its drive into at least one of the shafts of the cylinder parts via the, or every, actuating unit, and the, or every, actuating unit is assigned an adjusting drive in order to adjust the two cylinder parts, and therefore the folding-jaw cheeks which are assigned to the cylinder parts, relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 6776750
Abstract: A low-oscillation and space-saving drive for a changeable format folder of a rotary printing is provided, the rotary printing machine having rotating subassemblies that can be driven, in particular a cutting cylinder, a pin folding blade cylinder, a folding jaw cylinder, a gripper folding blade cylinder, and perforating cylinders belonging to a perforating device. The drive is split up into individual subsystems, and each subsystem is assigned a controlled-position drive motor. In the event of failure of a drive motor, the drive continues to operate without functional impairment.
